ONE YEAR ON 08 Aura 10 Venus - this may be the SLOWEST GROWER I've ever encountered (given I initially thought it was literally the worst Gaga song ever) but FUCK ME I FINALLY GET IT Now SERVE FOR THE GODS! 10 GUY - I live for the applause production 11 Sexxx Dreams - probably in my top five tracks by the Lady. A true anthem to arch your back to 06 Jewels N Drugs - it's a minute too long but as an attempt at provocation it's unmatched. 09 Manicure - still love that this bitch tried to pass off a rehash of Shut Up And Drive as art. And it WORKED! 10 Do What U Want - one of the most stellar middle eights on an album which excels at them 10 Artpop 00 Swine - Gaga's greatest crime on this album was allowing Zedd and DJ White Shadow to shart all over it with that frankly unlistenable ADHD grinder EDM production, and this was the worst offender. 07 Donatella - 04 for the production, but god I love a good smirk to the campy lyrics 09 Fashion - love the more laidback 70s disco sound. Like Artpop, it's a breather the album so desperately needs 07 Mary Jane Holland - 04 for the production, 10 for the utterly *transcendental* middle eight. 05 Dope - had basically zero afterlife for me 11 Gypsy - I instinctively always think of this through the prism of Suomi's review of it as the ultimate Melodifestivalen heat 4, song 8 contest closer. Perfection. 10 Applause - 'some of us just LIKE to READ' has established itself as a key player within my superior queen phrasebook. And AGAIN, love this bitch having the nerve to steal the production from Calvin Harris - Bounce and call it art. And SO IT WAS QUEEN!
