I really liked her whole Andy Warhol wannabe persona when she first popped up, so hopefully this'll be good.

Yes she's obviously going back to that.
She also said she wants to "turn Warhol inside out" with this one.

Hopefully the world will end before 2013 and we won't have to endure another campaign.

Expect for her to dramatically release the perfume commercial halfway through Katy Perry's performance at the VMAs :disco:

She'll storm the stage with Kanye West halfway through and announce their tour is back on.

i feel like pillaging Andy Warhol and the whole pop art scene is beneath even HER. it feels like such a step backwards.

I bet Andy Warhol would've thought she was a TIT. Much like Madge, Whitney Houston, Grace Jones, David Bowie, etc. do.

She's making the transition to embarrassing 2012 Madonna in the space of three albums :(

Though I still hold out hope that the music will be good!

To be fair to her, the title does instantly imply LESS WANK to me than a title like "Born This Way" ever did. "Art Pop" may be the theme, but let's hope she can find it in her to pander to those after some PURE TRASH.

Hence, Artpop. Because it's backwards for popart. Get it? :bad: :bad:

What a fucking JOKE. She's not even worthy to mention his NAME, let alone "turn him inside out". Worst popstar ever. :manson:

It's funny how she's learned NOTHING after the last "project". At the very least hopefully the tunes withstand the extreme hubris.

    FAN'S ANALYSIS :

Some explanation for people who are confused by "My ARTPOP could mean anything." It's not her avoiding thinking up a meaning for the song. The lack of a stated meaning, is the point.

Much of Pop Art deals with the role of the artist in creating the meaning of the art. Warhol didn't directly paint a lot of things, he had what he called a "Factory" of people doing it for him. But does that mean he doesn't deserve any credit? He was making a point about the commercialization of art; even if he didn't directly paint on the silkscreen himself, isn't his detachment from the process kind of the point, because he turned art into a mass-produced product made by faceless workers?

By saying "ARTPOP could mean anything," she's compelling the audience to create their own meaning for the work. And if they come up with a meaning supported by the text, does it even matter if that's not the meaning intended by the artist?
