The pricing of these reissues weeks a bit OTT. Even I find a Drama reissue with bugger all new for twenty quid not entirely enticing.

I hadn't seen the pricing- TWENTY FUCKING QUID? Jesus! I'd be more inclined if it wasn't all stuff I HAD ALREADY ANYWAY. What is "new" on Viva then?

They must do REALLY fucking well in terms of the re-issue market, though...

    Oh, Viva doesn't...but it's £16. I see!

They'll probably drop in price, though, right?

Well it has all been released but Viva at least has new to CD stuff, including Here Comes The Rain which was vinyl only, rather than one bside and then two discs of remixes of the two singles.

I'm AMAZED they aren't releasing them on vinyl at the same time...

Good point, I hadn't thought about that.

It's SO annoying that we KNOW there's more stuff in the vaults too. I am INCREDIBLY frustrated by the whole damned THING.

I've started being tempted by the coloured vinyls as well, after seeing one in HMV yesterday. I really DON'T need them.

If Sara and Keren are involved they WON'T ENTERTAIN anything unreleased. COWS. :D

Which AMAZES me, considering how much money they can make from SUCH OLD ROPE.

I guess they really DON'T need the cash, somewhat surprisingly :D

I've just looked on Cherry Red. Slightly cheaper: £12.99 and £16.99, £31.83 for the two including postage. I'll hold off for now but I am tempted to just get Viva and keep an eye on Drama's price.

Oh it'll definitely go cheaper on Amazon then. I'll pre-order there I think...it's bound to drop!

I remember their VISIBLE HORROR when they were confronted with a clip of Changes on some telly interview in the wake of David Bowie's death. :D

Obviously I wouldn't go messing with the final version, which is obviously an utter classic, but I would have very much liked this to have been snuck out on Drama:

Again, with the admittedly not much cop “Changes”, the amount of publicity it got, I’m amazed they didn’t bother selling it as a download...

I WANT THAT ABANDONED SAW ALBUM

Thanks, I’ll buy it for that. The new Tiffany album is £2.99. Well worth it.

Is the HMV sale online and worthwhile then?

In store and online there seem to be reductions already, but not grouped under the sale banner (yet). I saw the Bananarama album and a couple of others reduced in the racks but it was fairly busy so didn't look properly.

I was worried the glorious return of Jacquie O to mainstream press coverage might get overlooked in the other thread I put it in so thought I should share it here too. I am MOST RELIEVED that there were no HORRIBLE words between Sara, Keren and Jacquie during the Jacquie era. I’m also a bit shook the Guardian also acknowledges how good Drama is. Article also features Kelle Eternal and Mariama Honeyz.

I bet the lack of actual horrible words was only because Sara and Keren were almost certainly slagging her off behind her back and blanking her to the face :side-eye:

In fact it wouldn’t surprise me if the recent à trois reunion came to that strangely abrupt end because those two (particularly Keren) were up to similar tricks with Siobhan

BBC favourites Keren and Sara followed up their victorious Pointless appearance with an appearance on Celebrity Antiques Road Trip last night. It probably would have been a better programme with just the two of them in the car for the hour, but they were on good form:

Can some mod split the thread as they will have a new album this year? I don't want it all lost in "Bananarama 2017"

In other news, looks like they are still using the same (REALLY FUCKING BAD) airbrusher as during the "Viva" era...

So the Drama reissue is £23 on Amazon and Viva is £20. What’s up with that shit? 2 for £20 and I’d have bit.

They had gone down a bit to about £17 and £14 but increased to these quite ridiculous new prices in the last day or so. They are both cheaper from Cherry Red direct, though not so cheap as I would like.

So ahead of the new reissues and brand new album what would we rank as the top 3 (or all of them) Bananarama albums? For me:

    1 Pop Life
    2 Wow
    3 True Confessions
    4 Drama
    5 Please Yourself
    6 Bananarama
    7 Viva
    8 Ultra Violet
    9 Deep Sea Skiving
    10 Exotica

    Is that A LUTE?
    EXCUSE ME.

ANYWAY, I wonder when we will get some news on the album, they replied to a tweet before Xmas saying they have a release date. I'm interested to see by what means they are going to be unleashing the fruits of their latest labours; I'm not sure I see them being bothered to go fully DIY, I can't imagine they have secured another fledgling label to bankrupt and their number one fan doesn't have a major label imprint to indulge himself anymore.

That is very difficult. Depending on my mood but maybe swap TC for Drama (or the self-titled...)

I’m dreaming it’s something 30th anniversary related to Help and the return of Lanananananeenoo and Jacquie.
