    So ready for this.

I've been listening to random episodes from the previous series' and I don't think the speed fucking in the library (whilst the clothes are being sent to a charity shop) will ever not make me CRY WITH LAUGHTER.

I was going to start thinking of some EXPENDABLE characters - but quite frankly there's no point in trying to make a rational prediction.

Did anyone listen to the first episode of series 5 this week?

The first 20 minutes or so was reliably brilliant. Then towards the end of the episode, I did wonder whether it's starting to get a bit TOO stupid for its own good.

All the same, a life with this podcast in is much richer than one without.

It has gotten a little self aware and bat shit crazy, although a this point I’m strangely invested in this world so not too bothered. I was genuinely agog at Bellas potential death.

It's incredibly obvious at this point that they're writing it themselves, but the image of The Duchess casually riding Toffee Apple Chew(!) around a pile of charred corpses had me howling.

I'm not entirely sure they write it completely, but at the very least clearly they are script editing. To be honest I really don't care, though. It still has me howling at least a couple of times each episode.

There's no way Bella IS dead though, is there? I don't think I could bear not hearing that voice again :(

The chances are minimal, I should think.

This one was (apparently) written during the first series of the podcast, and Bella hadn't quite become established in her unique way at that point. But I think even if she HAD been killed off, it would surely have been re-written.

I don’t think they’re writing or editing. More likely is that they’re making so much money they’ve established a kind of Misery situation, where Rocky is chained up in his shed with broken ankles being forced to churn out content.

I personally was never convinced that his dad ever wrote anything. Plus, how hard would it be to track that dad down and go and interview him at the end of the day?
But, as other people have mentioned already, when they make me laugh so hard and the podcast is SO entertaining, who cares really?

I hadn't even considered that as an option, but the last episode was so packed full of horrendous writing I think you could be on to something.

Yeah it’s losing its charm for me, that last episode was just a bit too much.

I'm loving Belinda gurney straddling a comatose Bella. Although is it just me, or does Bella sound more like Sir James Godwin now?

Someone on Twitter first mentioned the whole possibility/likelihood that the whole thing is a ruse and honestly, HOWEVER LIKELY, I really wish they hadn't as it's kind of ruined the magic for me. I'd rather have remained ignorant.

This week's episode was quite bad, wasn't it?
I listened to it almost out of obligation. I hope the next one is better.

Yes, it was easily one of the WORST of the five series'

The thing is, Rocky's writing was never THAT bad; at least, not so consistently as it's being presented here.

I hope the series improves, but for me at the moment it's starting to feel like a rip-off of itself. In theory using all the same elements, but executed with none of the charm.

I thought it was a slight improvement. But it’s lost any sense of narrative it once had.

Well, it's not like it had a narrative for much of its run anyway.

I still enjoyed it a lot, but it's clearly got to the point a lot of sitcoms hit in series 3 or 4.

Having decided to not commit fully to “porno day”, I thought this week’s episode was an improvement.

The last few episodes have been amazing, the full return of Bella and (mostly) binning off Spooner has done WONDERS for my interest.

Bella stuffing her face with doughnuts watching telly while Belinda gets on with her decoupage was a highlight for me.

The casual, 5 books in implied reveal that Belinda’s been a dwarf for the entire time had me near tears a few weeks ago. :D

IT was a ropey start but it's really excelled in recent weeks. The amount of plot points that are set up and then just abandoned is incredible. Just as it begins to coalesce and begin to make sense, everything is scrapped, and Belinda is wearing nothing but pots and pans trying to land a product placement deal in the agent of an Australian TV chef. when she's meant to be hunting down Giselle, who has somehow fled to Australia with a CORPSE.

So in a strange twist the finale episode has been postponed due to the events at London Bridge and concerns it’s content would be disrespectful at this time. I suppose it’s not completely unimaginable that the chapter ends with Belinda fending off a jihadi with a Narwhal tusk. Before inevitably shoving it up her.
