New stuff in September. Living for this new one
he/they have been picking up a lot of speed over the last year. nothing has really stuck with me so far though i do approve.
It's my house-y friend who's been pushing their agenda for a year now. This is not too house-y for me and is probably the first track I REALLY enjoy.
I've seen them DJ a few times and loved their sets, proper old skool ravey. They've done some cracking remixes too.
I'll be getting my hands on this in August and will be covering. Interesting direction from Ninja Tune here - first Nathan Fake on board, now Bicep.
Feel My Bicep label has also been sticking out some great content recently.
Their new track 'Glue' is probably my favourite song of the year. I nearly cried on first listen.
Love Glue. Going to see them again in October.
Yeah, I've stuck glue right in the midst of an electro/breaks mix I am hoping to piece together soon. Loooooads of this sort of vibe going around atm, and lots of it good.
Just discovering Bicep this morning. Loving 'Just'
I stumbled on their latest release, 'Vale' on Spotify. I have to say, its fucking BRILLIANT:
Omg I love it. They're my new minor obsession.
This has leaked, and yes, you guessed it, I'm living
I think I'm in love. If I was making music in 2017 it would be this.
Living for the 100% Bicep playlist...
Keep an eye on this, straight from the guys:
FMB was known for their long running blog highlighting music, this is a mix of that, their own tracks, stuff from their label and loads of other bits. Great way of finding new sounds. I can see plenty in here that I know and love.
Yeah I read that about them. It's like Moopy making their own hi-NRG disco electro pop music.
The album is out!
Ooh, I rather like it. It's a bit banging in places and a bit Disclosure-lite though.
I mean Disclosure are the personification of lite. They distilled house music down for easy consumption.
It's a million miles away from Disclosure.
I'm seeing them in Lyon
The album is lush. Can't wait to get ravey with them.
So I heard a lot of this today, and I recognise its comparisons to Sasha & Digweed's Northern Exposure 1 & 2. Was about time that the 90's revival thing stumbled upon old prog. Bicep have taken a risk (because prog is a huuuuuuuge dirty word and everybody strives to dance around being termed as prog - I hear it termed as melodic techno, emo techno, man trance) and just embraced its roots.
I deffos hear a lot of 90s Sasha in there, and some of the earlier tracks have a whiff of Hybrid's breaky trance stuff, which I adored.
In case you needed a video for Aura, here it is.
When are these two going to break through into the mainstream? Just is fucking ART.
Mixmag has finally cottoned and I've heard them on RADIO SIX.
Not sure it will go much further than that though? I'm looking forward to listening to the album Sunday morning in a post pill floaty haze.
I need to see them at a festival.
I NEED that too.
They're doing the Ptichfork festival here, but it'll probably a one hour set, so no. But I'm seeing them on their own in Lyon next month
I can’t stop listening to this album. Rain and Glue are fucking brilliant.
Aura remains far ahead of the pack for me (far ahead of anything else this year really). But yeah Glue and especially Rain are all kinds of marvelous
Seeing them tonight
Lost my shit last week over the Higher Level remix. It was so fucking busy in the venue!
Fucking organizers announced them as the main act, but they were here for about an hour only
That aside, BEST HOUR OF MY LIFE. I can’t, I just can’t. They only played stuff from the album (and Metro from the Glue EP <3!!). Started with Ocra, I was instantly blinded by the waves of sound hitting me. Rain had me in trance and by Aura I was nearly in TEARS.
I want to see a full set!!
Good md then?
I think I have the best dealer ever at the moment
Make sure you send him a christmas card.
OH MY GOD!!!! I HAVE FINALLY STUMBLED ONTO THIS.
There was this TRACK that was playing in a TAXI a couple of months ago and I couldn't Shazam it. It sounded like something from the 90s with jungle flavor and really cool atmosphere and I really liked it. I thought it was some OLD tune.
TODAY Spotify plays me "Vale" by Bicep after Maya Jane Coles finishes and I'm like OH WHAT IS THIS? THEN I put on the album and GLUE comes on which is THAT track I heard months ago.
Needless to say I want to get fisted by @RaspberrySwirl and @Dark Carnival to this.
Let me get the lube babes!
