    i.e. CIVILIAN SERIES

Starts next Tuesday. The house(s?) will be revealed tomorrow.

Rylan and Emma are teasing how the game is going to change like never before etc etc etc like every time but I think there's a bit more WEIGHT to it this year with the new layout and suchlike.

Anyway I'm pretty excited. 4 OUT 4 IN HERE WE COME. :daf:

launch night at least should be an opportunity to rack up the posts. After that, who knows?

Launch night is the only night I bother with these days. I was prepared to give last year's civilian series a chance, but then they booted out everyone even slightly fun and replaced them with sociopaths. I'm of course referring to Adjoa.

The biggest twist on launch night would be that they DON'T HAVE A TWIST, just go back to basics, which is what made the series so watchable in the first place.

I've been holding out hope for that. Stick ten interesting people in, let them nominate, maybe chuck in a couple of extras a few weeks in... It's a formula that never had a chance to get stale because the twists started pretty much from series 3 onwards.

I can cope with nearly all the twists. It's when they piss around with the nominations too much that annoys me.

Normal nominations seem to be the exception as opposed to the rule these days. Given that they're the WHOLE FUCKING POINT of the series, it kind of feels like they ought to be left untouched.

I hope we get a vintage selection of experts for the BotS panel. The Annie Lennox one did get her cameos last year at least, but the new ones were not up to scratch.

How many times do you think there will be normal nominations this season? My prediction is zero. (I'm pretty sure there's only been about 1 or 2 weeks of it in the last 3 seasons).

Last year's series was the first one to have NONE AT ALL in fact.

I'm quite addicted to *whispers* Love Island, at the moment. That is on every night for six weeks, with this starting, I might aswell not leave the house for the summer :(

I purposely stopped myself watching it, for fear I'd become even more of a hermit.

I hadn't realised that this starts tomorrow, for some reason I thought we were due a celebrity one, although I imagine there will be the prerequisite desperate sub-Z-list cunts involved. I hope that vile Benefits Street queen that doesn't know who David Cameron is isn't going in.

Spoilers but the OMG SHOCK TWISTS sound fucking wank

The dominatrix from Leeds sounds quite good fun, and there are whispers that Adjoa and CORIN are going back in. By and large, though, yes, it sounds like they're trying too hard to manufacture drama and not just letting it happen naturally.

Where did you get the dominatrix from? There's always a dominatrix I'm sure.

I loved Corin. Unfairly denied a top 2 placing.

She's a former dominatrix/brothel madam. She's been in all the papers - the black lass from Leeds.

Corin really deserved a place in the final, the ones that got there were such CHAFF - Dave, JJ, Josie... She's one of the best examples of a 'normal person' housemate they've ever had on the show.

I have to say I'm also damp at the prospect of having Adjoa back, slithering up to every woman in there are honking 'D'you like PUSSEH?'

Was there a Licorice Allsorts explosion in the house when thy redecorated? Vile. No doubt i'll watch the opener, then give up watching almost immediately.

Oh and Katie Waissel. I'd prefer her nan.

Good as admitted the civilian series doesn't work any more.

    'Loads' being Kate Lawler, seemingly.

Although we did also get a largely mute Sonia, who appears to have finally completed her transmogrification into Charlie Drake.

We don't need a separate launch night thread, do we? Probably a bit ambitious.

I honestly don't know what to expect this evening. They put in a good bunch last year and managed to completely fuck it up, so I'm not holding out too much hope.

it's all a bit smaller, isn't it? The runway and the stairs at least.
