omg who is this girl? where did she come from? does she really warrant an omg and such interest? no idea, ditto, probably not but i'm quite excitable today.

the guitar at the beginning is questionable at best but once the chorus kicks in shit be starting to get real. yeah, i like this.

    no one? really.

i think watch might be overtaking bellyache. it took a while and it properly gets going one minute in but it's oh so good. especially from the 2 minute mark.

    when you call my name
do you think i'll come running
    you never did the same
so good at giving me nothing
    when you close your eyes
    do you picture me
    when you fantasize
    am i your fantasy
    now you know
    now i'm free

    :( :disco:

    oh so good.

my favourite new pop artist of 2017 along with ralph. her new video is also really cool. i can't believe sigrid won sound of 2018 and billie didn't even make the top 4 or whatever.

I slept on her for a bit. I heard a little something in the background at someone's house and thought it sounded like MO who I have ZERO time for so I just ignored everything from there on.

I listened to the EP a bit over Christmas thought and there's some really great stuff on there. idontwanntbeyouanymore being a highlight.

Liking this. I watched her perform "Bellyache" on one of the US chat shows the other night and she's such a star in waiting.

    Oh this is nice.

Yes the Khalid album is great. He's a busy boy though - it seems he is a featured artiste on a track on the NMF playlist on a weekly basis.

I love a few of her tracks but the first of the new ones left me cold, not sure on this yet.

Maybe it was the news she's a racist.

I am really not sure and probably just spreading fake news but from this thread I listened to some of her stuff, liked it so started looking into her more, searched for her on Twitter and it was just loads of posts about her being racist.

But now I can't find any single thing and am wondering if I've made the whole thing up.

Ok I was spelling her name wrong. Just search her name and racist in Twitter.

Actually, was bored enough to listen to Bellyache. Pretty dull.

Her EP/mini album has been hanging around the lower reaches of the album chart for ages and she announced her album proper this week.

I'm currently more into this than the new single Bury A Friend though:

I haven't explored her much at all before today but I've been cherry picking from this and I'm into all of it

bad guy, my strange addiction, all the good girls go to hell - all winners. I love the dark, bouncy soundscape going on.

Well having listened through twice, this album is beautiful, dark and pretty amazing. SUCH a vibe.
I wish I was a 13 year old so I could be as obsessed with it as I really want to be :disco:

I would have loved 'When I Was Older' tacked on at the end, as it certainly would fit with the rest of the album. I guess that doesn't really matter though as Spotify playlists are a thing :D

When I Was Older is my favourite thing I've heard from her, gorgeous.

I like Bad Guy very much too and the DUHs are enjoyably obnoxious. I did wonder if her stuff is the kind of thing to take the odd track or two at a time from, but I'll have to give the album a go.

Just listened to the current album - surprised at how minimal it is but it works because of the variety in her delivery. "Bad Guy" definitely stood out - I like how it changes pace, which made me think it was a different track for the last minute or so until she whispered the title. Clever, creative and fun.

Bad Guy is freaking twisted, she's like the female version of Jared Leto's Joker.

There is something naturally alien about her, I think and that's very appealing to me.

She discovered this bitch last night. Brilliant innovative pop. I can see why the kids are losing their shit for her. For the first time in generations pop stars, I'm a BIT JEALOUS.

I've only listened to a few songs but she does seem quite authentically weird and offbeat. Recording a pop album like a horror movie soundtrack is a cool idea.
