Should be popping up on the iTunes feeds any moment now, although I think mine might be frozen

I'm really curious to see if this will do better than Britney wordwide. I did not expect HIAM to start THAT well.

What a crap font for a front page ad on iTunes.

I'm not a Britney fan but I am aware that this will not do better than HIAM. Just being REAL.

To do WHAT well? It's 'only' been to number 1 in six countries which is nothing to boast about my megastar lead single standards. It's not holding up especially well in a lot of regions either - the UK for example.

I think it'll initially be just as big as Britney if not significantly bigger.

But whether it has any legs is another question.

No, but the initial iTunes positions were impressive by anyone's standards, she just didn't capitalise on it in any way.

With the very average reactions (I don't include Moopy loons) it's going to be very interesting to see how it does.

Just so we can have it in the sales thread, the highest charting Friday release is currently Your Song which got to #39. Obviously she is much more hyped than Ellie, so maybe top 20 would be possible. She would need at least 22k or so for top 10 which I think is too much to ask from 1.5 days sales.

I think they were just going with flashy but it's nice to see more of that photo they used on the single cover

Apparently it's on course to shatter Britney's record first day at US radio and already #2 on iTunes there. Are people even LISTENING to it?

Of course it'll beat Britney's record. What pop radio station in their right mind isn't going to play the new Lady GaGa single at the first opportunity?

Give it 3 weeks and then we'll REALLY know if it's a hit. It was always going to do exceptionally well at first.

Just behind Colbie on US iTunes, who didn't have a big lead in the first place, should be #1 any moment

Mine has it at #12, and half an hour ago it wasn't there at all so I guess that's it just been updated for the first time. If Gaga manages to prevent a Chris Brown #1 it really will be an ultimate :disco: MOMENT.

She's pretty much the lead female in the 'acoustic-pop' field, surprised her new single is doing so well though, it's SHIT. And I actually quite like her generally

It's now #1 in the US! :disco:

iTunes chart geeks are saying it's the fastest known climb to #1 on US iTunes, 3 hours. Previously it was T-Swift with 6 hours apparently

I really do RESENT the fact that the UK didn't have Britney with the rest of the world so we can compare the two

#7 on my itunes now, but I guess it's all over the place at the moment. Surely any talk of it beating Chipmunk and Chris Brown by Sunday is just RIDICULOUS, though?

Up to 3 on UK iTunes now, Jessie J overtakes Chipmunk too, so it really must be tighter than a nun's chuff up there at the top.

Without further comment, I'd just like to remind Moopy of the fastest selling album in British history.

Yes, it goes along with what Jark said about Britney. It's a headline, but doesn't count for an awful lot further down the line necessarily.

I know it is ridiculous but surely Jessie J and Chipmunk/Brown must only be heading for around 60k so to do that in a day isn't completely unreasonable - unlikely but it would be AMAZE

It was always going to climb to the top of itunes in just as a spectacular way as Britney, just imagine if it had been as immediate as Bad Romance though!

I know the chance of a UK #1 debut is slim to none, but I wonder if she can pull it off in the States where she has three days for sales (including night of the Grammy's) and five days of airplay
