"Living for Love" is a good song. It may not be great, but still good.

Is it too late for her to ditch it and sing Rebel Heart?

It doesn't have quite the same potential for CROW NOX as "Living for Love" (in which the dulcet tones of the verses are pretty much crowtastic even in studio version.)

I can just picture it now.

    Livin' for LAAHHVVV!!
    Livin' for LAHHHH*CROAK*AAVV!!
    I'm gonna CARRRRYY*CROAK* ON!!
Don't ever tell me to STAHHHPP
    That's right MUTHAFUAKAASS!!
*grabs crotch, spreads legs, licks grillz-adorned teeth, kisses backup dancer, gives audience the finger etc. etc.

It's going to be life altering!

She's going to walk on dressed like Martin Luther King. Fucks sake.

I love "Living For Love" as well, but she really should have kept that a buzz single at this stage and gone with "Rebel Heart"...

She'll hopefully whip out her guitar and bless the UK with an Acoustic version of Rebel Heart (veiny fingers and all) segueing into Tela Palatule

I do wonder whether she'll give the exact same Grammys performance? I think that's the most likely scenario. Maybe a minor tweak or two there but I can't really see her doing anything radically different.

I suppose her label's idiotic strategy of releasing it in the UK on the day of the Brits performance is to maximise hype and sales but that's just utter cock. Surely a couple of days of extra loon purchases can only help, and by the time of the BRITs it may at least be SOMEWHERE on the iTunes top 100 to catch people's eyes.. UGH.

It makes no sense at all- on loon purchases and Madonna alone it WILL go top 20 on iTunes in the first couple of days, at the very least. Even if it's collapsed to the 50s by the time of the performance, surely that will boost her back up there and she can have a sizeable hit. This jeopardises ANY chance of that whatsoever. I don't understand what record company would even think like this...it's just STUPID

But surely the loon purchases will just be on the Wednesday instead of the beginning of the week? It's probably a strategic move so that all of the loon purchases and the BRITs purchases will be all at once, and therefore the record label is hoping it'll go straight to the top 5 rather than hang around the top 20 for the first few days, drop to 30s and then get the BRITs boost.

But it's not just loon purchases. Loons already own it. There'll be a fair amount of people who would buy it on the Sun-Weds ANYWAY....

My point is, the record company probably aren't bothered about the number it sells, they probably want to front load it so that the sales of the existing fans and the BRIT viewers will be all on the same day and therefore push it up as far as it's likely to go in the charts - therefore maximising the promo opportunites and headlines, e.g. 'Madonna's new single reaches top 5 in midweeks' etc rather than having the sales spaced out thoroughout the week and only reaching top 10.

But it WON'T be top 5 in the midweeks, that's the point! It's going to be starting from behind! The only places it might do well are iTunes but no one really reports "Top 5 on iTunes", do they?

    Well, other than Mariah Carey...

Madonna's team was reporting that sort of thing after the pre-order 6 tracks went to No. 1 in some iTunes charts back in December.

If THAT's the game they are playing, then there REALLY is NO HOPE. No. 27 for the single and a 1-19-38-69-OUT trajectory for the album here we COME..

If it were The Voice US I expect Queen Christina to join her onstage for a maximum level of cuntiness

I can't believe they've delayed the release of this for MONTHS and have still managed to turn it into a complete FIASCO. They clearly weren't spending all this time planning.

Anyway, the single's fucked just like everywhere else in the world, but with The Brits, The Voice, and Ross the album could top MDNA's total sales in a matter of weeks on the back of that kind of intense promo.
