*agrees* Seeing the highlighst again watching the Oscars last night made me think the same. I still think it was a good film, but just "good".

I was shocked and a little disappointed to discover that FRANCES CONROY, aka Ruth Fisher from Six Feet Under, was in Catwoman.

    WHY Frances, WHY? :(

But sorry, did not read the topic, but Jack was in fact not killed by an accident, but by some gay-haters, wasnt he?

I finally got to see the movie this week and it blew me away. I had to go out and buy it right away. The second time I saw it I was an emotional hysterical mess. I thought the performances, especially Heath's, were amazing. Now I'm a romantic person to begin with but this movie was just heartwrenching. There was this huge painful ache throughout the movie and the music in the film seriously makes me cry everytime I hear it. I haven't been this emotionally affected by a movie since Moulin Rouge.

I totally agree Xanthie. Haven't been affected by a movie like that for ages.. I thought about it for days afterward and wanted to see it again straight away. I'll def be getting the DVD - there were a couple of uncomfortable scenes in the cinema, especially the tent scene which came out of the blue :bad: Heath was amazing, Jake was very good as well, though I'm surprised he got the BAFTA as he was less convincing as he aged. Damn that fucking Crash :al: real strides could have been made there, typical Oscars. :manson:

Just watched it tonight and I'm somewhere in the middle... there were some moments that really did get to me (either emotionally [in the tent] or in the uncomfortable to watch way [the family dinner]), but stretches as well where I didn't really care that much. As others have said, Ledger's mumbling was ridiculous - I had to have the volume pretty much doubled to make out most of what he was saying. The general air of understatement to scenes was in the main to the film's benefit, but sometimes it needed that extra kick-on which wasn't forthcoming.

I remember crying first time i watched it; when Ennis went into Jack's bedroom and noticed Jack had wrapped his blooded shirt over his.

    SWEET :shy:

It is just that scene. And when his mother nods at him and gives him the ashes in the bag. Always gets me. The look she gives him just says so much. Or is that me looking far too much into it?

Hate watching it with people for that reason

I loved Anne Hathaway's hair by the end. It got more and more ridiculous!

What's to cry at? I couldn't feel ANY connection between the two of them in the first place.

No, it was just I felt they had about as much chemistry as John Travolta and Lily Tomlin in Moment By Moment.

Oh I disagree, I think they had great chemistry and it was because of it that I could seriously believe that they fell in love.
