Series 2 of Nighty Night was just a complete misfire for me I'm afraid. The joy of series one for me was the dialogue, which was almost completely lost in favour of gross-out humour.

There was one exchange in the first episode that was classic NN, but it's the only particularly LOL scene I can recall.

"Terry had a very low IQ, Linda. It's the equivalent of a Donkey."
    "What about mine Jill?"
    "Sausage dog, Linda".

Series 2 crossed the line of uncomfortable viewing into unwatchable for me.

Back on topic though, I'll definitely be watching this today!

Whilst I agree it suffered from the whole "gross out" thing somewhat, there were still some BLINDING moments. The scene where she is trying to extract Don's semen in the hospital was the best of the whole thing whilst the best line for me has to have been:

    "My name is Floella Umbegabo"
"Excuse me for saying this but from your name I expected you to be black"
"What you've just said is racialist and as a matter of fact, I am black, we've just had some very poor summers..."

    :D

Fair enough, I'll give you the Floella stuff. I forgot about that bit.

Maybe I should rewatch it. I just remember feeling very let down at the time. It seemed to get less funny as it went along too.

I enjoyed this and thought it mirrored what would actually happen well. The power of the internet!

Nighty Night is a brilliant series I had no idea they were making a third, very pleased to hear that. At the time I was disappointed with series two, but it genuinely seems to get funnier each time I watch it.

I watched this on CATCH UP and thoroughly enjoyed it, though I don't really know what it was trying to be- it wasn't black comedy, it wasn't meant to be a shock drama...I couldn't quite pin point it. I liked it, though yes, it was LUDICROUS and some of the things were entirely unreal.

Still, I hope it provokes a copycat :D

I really liked it too. I thought it raised lots of interesting ideas about the extent of the influence social media, traditional media and good old mob rule on the country, how that affects real relationships, how PR has become such a major factor in all important decisions etc.

I'm really looking forward to the next one.

As many people have pointed out, the fact that people were eating Kangaroo Anus for nothing more than a brief extension of their celebrity over on ITV just days earlier says a lot about how close to the bone this show actually was.

    Not feeling it either.

It's picking up a bit with the audition now.

Lady Sybill needs to SPEAK UP though.

I sort of understand now. I don't get what the bikes have to do with it all though.

Aren't the bikes powering the world or something?

Lady Sybill didn't do a very good job with her Irma T cover... porn probably is the best option.

It really is BORING. Isn't that Konnie BINT a co-writer? I was quite looking forward to it but am googling pictures of Zach Galifianakis instead to warm the COCKLES

That was DREADFUL. We've all heard that rant from Charlie before, and it was nowhere near good enough to warrant a dreary hour and a bit long show. I'm shocked at how bad it was.

I liked hearing "I Need Your Lovin'" in the trailer for next week's show. Haven't heard it in decades.

Possibly one of the most boring, self pretentious pieces of wank I've ever seen this week. Appalling! What WAS the point?

Really weird. Unlike a couple of the last series, the out there thought provoking concept wasn't ruined by a Konnie weak script or shit actors.

Maybe pig fucking is an essential ingredient of a good Black Mirror episode.

I think perhaps the pig fucking one was so WOAH, it did overshadow the other two.

As weird as the one I've just watched is, it probably won't have the same problem.

I note the final episode of the last series has been picked up by Robert Downey Jr to make something film adaptation.

It's about GOONS who stand and record everything isn't it? I find the whole subject uncomfortable now so I'm not sure I can watch a full hour of people being awful.

It got even more uncomfortable as it went on.

It was essentially 'What if Maxine Carr had never got that NHS boobjob?'
