Spotify has thrown this up for me, presumably as a result of playing a lot of Christine and the Queens and France Gall recently. I had a search on moopy and found @ameraal and @Krust picking out individual tracks at the end of last year, but nothing more.

I think the whole album is great - think Euro Disco with a more contemporary, electronic edge. Apparently it charted at #89 in the UK and made the Independent and Guardian year end best of lists, but completely passed me by.

My highlights are Sylvia Says (the lyrics being a reference to Sylvia Plath's poem Mad Girl's Love Song) and Deadly Valentine, but there are a good five other tracks I properly love, including the Paul McCartney written Songbird In A Cage.

I like this very much - my favourite album I've bought this year so far.

She has been a bit hit and miss (I wasn't so keen on most of the Beck stuff) but this album is good. Deadly Valentine is the pick of the bunch but Sylvia Says and I'm a Lie are excellent too. Not wild about the title track.

Her new EP Take 2 continues in much the same vein as Rest and is very good too. Such A Remarkable Day and Bombs Away:

Saw her last week. She is a bit awkward on stage, not a natural performer... but the music sounded great :disco:

I adore the Rest album. Need to give the EP a spin.

Glad you enjoyed her gig Kate (I think from your post that you enjoyed it? :D)

I mean it's OK and all that but you're never going to better an album with words by JARVIS and music by AIR, MALHEUREUSEMENT
