For me this is easily her most enjoyable album, though I think 'Hero' is perhaps better, but this has many more enjoyable songs.

Also Where Were You? is one of my top 10 songs of all time.

    00 Gone Too Long
    00 Million Miles Away
    00 What A Feeling
    00 Believe In Love Again
    00 Long Way Home
    00 Wrapped Around
    00 All By Myself
    00 Where Were You?
    00 Wandering Light
    00 Tell Me
    00 Closer
    00 Broken Heart

The cover is also very pretty, though the same CANNOT be said for either of the single covers (Broken Heart and Million Miles Away).

Well pretty by Charlotte's modern day standards, and its a hell of a lot better than the monstrosity that was the 'Hero' album cover. Though she had just had one of her children before this was taken and had partaken of the botox (for whatever reason, given she was actually really good looking before).

Do you have a picture of the Million Miles Away single cover? I've never seen it and can't find it online.

The Broken Heart single cover is SPECTACULAR. I had to buy it off ebay just so I could see it up close in all its "WTF" glory. :D

Here it is, in all its glory:

It isnt quite as bad as Broken Heart, though Hero (Single) is almost as bad

Have I never voted ? DISGRACEFUL

    09 Gone Too Long
    10 Million Miles Away
    10 What A Feeling
    08 Believe In Love Again
    09 Long Way Home
    10 Wrapped Around
    08 All By Myself
    11 Where Were You?
    09 Wandering Light
    06 Tell Me
    08 Closer
    09 Broken Heart

OBVIOUSLY tremendous, but in "Where Were You?" there is one of the great lost singles of the century so far. It's epic, should have been #1 forever ETC ETC. I can imagine Claire BELTING IT OUT if it were a Steps single, as it probably WOULD HAVE BEEN. Though H would have probably gotten a verse rather than just doing the VERY STEPS ESQUE BACKING VOCALS which permeate the chorus and fade of the song...which would have been a VERY VERY VERY BAD THING INDEED.

I also think "What A Feeling" is the best version I've heard. I LOVE IT :disco:

I don't get how generous people are with their marks...in what WORLD is an album with only five out of twelve songs at 10/10 actually WORTH 10/10, VoR?

It's good to see that everyone, so far, agrees the Where Were You? is the BEST song on the album

I cannot DESCRIBE how this song makes me feel. No, I mean I really can't. It's too ridiculously amazing for words :disco:

I am also glad to see everyone here recognises it too.

For me it works even better than it would normally because she gives it HER ALL, wheras on a few other songs which are also brilliant (Bullet for example) she doesnt give it her all.

    It's BEYOND DISCOTASTIC

I cannot REFRAIN from doing a WOBBLY LIPPED SNEER AND POUT CHORUS SINGALONG every time I hear it.

Unfortunately, this also happens when I'm in public :(

    :D

Agree also with your post about Claire from Steps taking that song by the balls and ripping it up. I can hear it now.

Johnkm - 'gives it her all' doesn't quite describe it ENOUGH, but I know what you mean.

Oh it's come on my iPod....

SHE TEARS DOWN THE F*CKING WALLS with this vocal performance!

..and that really didn't do it justice either, I know.

I feel guilty for only giving it an 8 out of 10. I should probably start questioning my loyalty to Queen Charlotte. :shy:

The 'Broken Heart' single cover is indeed AB FAB. I got it for free from her lovely manager before it was even properly released. I e-mailed him asking where I could find Charlotte's second album (here in Belgium) and he sent the album to me for free, with a couple of signed CD singles as a bonus. Best manager ever, though he was probably just happy to get rid of some of those unsold copies. :geek:

The "AAAWOOOOAHWOOOOOAH" at the end of Where Were You is possibly the best ad-lib EVER.

An impressive selection of old performances have been uploaded to Charlotte's youtube channel, including this delightful TV performance of 'Broken Heart', which I've never seen her perform live before. :geek:

Her face really is at its WTF best here. A combination of botox and baby weight (She'd given birth just days earlier) making her look like the bride of Wildenstein's slightly more attractive younger sister. :D

Do we know that Broken Heart is a COVER?

It was in the running to represent Finland at Eurovision in 2002. It came 5th.

It was rejected from Melfest first, wasn't it? Though I don't know if it was Charlotte who demoed it...
