The album has been released today in a few I-Tunes stores: #4 + #89 Austria #7 Ireland #7 New Zealand #7 Switzerland #8 + #186 Australia #8 + #68 Netherlands #10 + #186 Germany
I seriously have NO idea… It could go either way. My guess for this one would be 500K in the US, 80K in the UK, 850K WW... But I may well be totally wrong!
I don't sense any anticipation for it at all. It depends how many loon fans she has left. I imagine it could debut high (possibly even at number one depending on the competition) but I don't think it's going to have any legs whatsoever.
It's a horribly unappealing vanity project. Surely even the hardiest Monster will grimace at the prospect and no doubt agonising reality.
What exactly ARE the noises in this video? It sounds like some dismal cacophony of crying foxes and BLEATING SHEEP
She's declared herself a not.commercial artist for now anyway. She'll be over the moon introducing culture to her core fan base, with anything else a mere bonus.
Update before tomorrow's official release in markets like the US, the UK and France (many of these are pre-orders) #1 Taiwan #1 Vietnam #2 Indonesia #2 Malaysia #2 Singapore #2 Thailand #2 United Arab Emirates #3 United States #3 Hong Kong #3 Philippines #4 Russia #5 Austria #6 Australia #6 Slovakia #6 Switzerland #7 India #12 New Zealand #15 Germany #16 Netherlands #21 Canada #24 Sri Lanka #25 Turkey #26 Paraguay #29 Finland #30 Mexico #31 Ireland #33 Colombia #41 Belgium #53 Spain #56 United States #61 Italy #64 Greece #68 Brazil #81 Australia #86 Russia #88 France #94 United Kingdom #114 Japan
Top twenty in the UK and top ten in the US, swift plunges thereafter, #1 on the Billboard Hot Jazz Club Play charts
Is there an actual single for this? With a video? I've seen ZERO coverage so far on music magazines/online blogs
She and Tony have recorded an interview for Good Morning Britain to air on Friday morning. Am not aware of any other promo
I don't see this as anything other than a stop-gap project (or a vanity one at best) so can't imagine this being promoted much more than her MAC shit with Cyndi Lauper to be honest.
It rather inexplicably seems to be at #11 on UK iTunes although Aphex Twin is at #4 so THANK GOD FOR JUSTICE IN THE WORLD
Surely nobody expected better? To be fair I don't think it says a thing about Gaga's current appeal one way or the other. It's just nobody wants a dreary jazz album with Tony "I thought that whore DIED" Bennett
Didn't Tony Bennet's last studio album go top 5 though? So the Lady GaGa collaboration has LOST sales for him...
