Cher doing Does Your Mother Know might just cause homosexuality itself to IMPLODE in a shower of glitter and ecstatic ejaculate.

Yeah, enough now. Capitalise on it and record an album of disco originals. Possibly anti-Trump disco originals...

Amazed she hasn’t bothered with any UK promo for this, by the way. Surely it has “Christmas stocking filler” life in it...

I assume she means when she doesn't have money on her person at that exact moment. Which is probably all the time, she has people who deal with that...

My usual stance that anyone covering ABBA songs should be guillotined has been slightly relaxed in the Cher instance - a light flogging will suffice, perhaps with the odd bottle of piss thrown at her :disco: - not that I want to hear this or any future albums

If it’s the only thing that’ll get her into the recording studio, I’ll TAKE IT.

She’s doing well logging in to Twitter at 72, let alone posting emojis and quintessential anecdotes.

I quite like the idea of “ABBA 2” if it’s more obscure stuff and done differently.

Just a retread of famous songs done in a slightly more dancey way again ain’t worth the effort...

Is the small present for the child whose house burnt down this announcement?

I agree I’m here for more obscure songs and different versions of the songs too. But I don’t think we will get that. However if it does bring her to these shores I’m all for it.

In Abba 1 news the vinyl is out today, not sure if that will have any bearing on it’s chart position next week

I just DIED LAUGHING at this on the train and people are looking at me like I'm mental. If only they knew.

Give that kid an (old) smartphone and a month's Spotify so he can stream THE SEQUEL and everybody wins!

For some reason the limited blue vinyl was released last week, so we'll see if that has any impact later today.

I thought all the versions were blue? The one I ordered on Amazon (for £11) was, anyway...

I didn't think the vinyl I saw that cheap on Amazon was. I'd read about a blue version but thought it was a US exclusive.

Up 10 places to 56 in its 10th chart week, suggesting it's going to benefit from Christmas gift season.

Do we have any idea on sales to date?

That's the vinyl release and the release of the film on DVD having an effect I imagine.

And 395k in the US. Which by current standards is pretty good, isn't it?

How has it sold that much? I thought it plummeted after week one? Has it hung around somehow?

It's a shame she hasn't bothered doing any promo- it could have been so much bigger over here. But yes, this week's jump was surely due to the vinyl alone...

I do think it's partly due to the DVD release as well. It was released earlier in the US, and the album saw a climb after freefall there as well. Hopefully the TV advertising for that (which seems pretty constant right now) will keep it ticking over.
