So i am wanting to get myself some this year as i am already feeling a bit festive.

What are the best by our favourite Swedish artists?
Are there any essential tracks that i should hear?

Could somebody also pop Shirley's 'Do They Know It's Xmas' into her massive bossom? They have taken the link down on youtube :Oi:

I've already given Rimfrostjul and Nu Tändas Tusen Juleljus a spin. Though the latter really isn't all that good.

As appealing as that cover is (to me and many an internet MF gay) i have heard some terrible things about that album :o

I don't think its all that bad really, but I love Charlottes voice on almost anything.

Sanna, Shirley and Sonja did an album together last year (I think) which is quite nice, the tracklisting:

    01. Another winter night
    02. All I want for Christmas is you
    03. Oh holy night
    04. Ave Maria
    05. My grown up Christmas list
    06. The Christmas song
    07. Have yourself a Merry little Christmas
    08. This Christmas
    09. Driving home for Christmas
    10. Light a candle
    11. Silent night
    12. The first Noel

Oh and Carola has a couple of Christmas albums too.

I don't think even Schlagerdivafabulousness could even make me warm to Christmas music.

Well possibly a lesbianic version of 'Fairytale of New York' with Anna Book and Shirley Clamp (might suit her live vox) but THAT'S IT!

Carolas Jul (the 1991 album) is essential.
Sanna, Shirley and Sonja is fantastic.
Amy Diamond's Christmas album is surprisingly good too.
EMD have one coming out this year.

Anna actually released a Christmas single in 1987, it's not very lesbianic but really sweet and actually quite good. Very 'Last Christmas'-esque. :disco:

I didn't know she had one.

And :disco:, that could be very good.

To be fair it is better than the album she did with her son.

It's called "Ett julkort ifrån dig" (A Christmas card from you). If you want to I can put it in Anna's colon.

    Please do!

I really like Rimfrostjul actually, I don't get the hate.

Although Sanna, Shirley and Sonja's album is the best. Shirley's version of O Holy Night is my favourite rendition of that song. I just love her voice so much. When she's singing in tune, of course. Sonja's Ave Maria is beautiful too.

Shirley massacring YET ANOTHER song live. Her recorded version of O Holy Night is very lovely though. The instrumentation is fantastic. That live vocal really is painful though. Her pitching is always so terrible, what's wrong with her?

    Anyway, this advert is cute:

No worries, RB. Yeah, I really like it too. It's good in a cheesy 80s way.

I really don't think she sounds bad in that performance at all. A bit wobbly near the bigger notes and she holds back on the glory note from the recorded version, but generally she sounds fine to me.

I think its fine too, but then when you listen to a live Madge vocal (circa 08/09), almost anything sounds fine.

She's just so unreliable, she's always slightly off or on the verge of going off. I don't enjoy listening to her live at all, she puts me on edge. I'm the same, but to a lesser extent, with Agnes.

Ahhh, this reminds me of Christmas at my cousins in Sweden when I was younger. Good times.

Thankfully that's NOT on the album, but why the fuck even release it? Keep it to yourself Charl! :gross:

Actually this song was on the album but without her son. Sleeve is terrible, the song itself is nothing special also but I would get it for collection if cdon had it in March.

I wasn't impressed by any Christmas album I've heard before - Amy, Magnus, SSS..., probably it's not my theme but all of them sound quite boring for me. I'm interested though what Carola and EMD will prepare this time.

I love Christmas music, just none of these albums are particularly glorious, now if Vanessa Williams had done Eurovision...

Well i have so far decided to get myself the Sanna, Shirley and Sonja album, the E.M.D one (if only to add to the Danny Saucedo collection :loonstalker.com: ) and a Carola one (because i love her voice on ballads).

I actually really like this. I'll definitely have it on my playlist when I'm wrapping up my presents by the tree with a glass of mulled wine.

I think she looks good too. Nice to see her dressed in something that flatters her.
