Currently top 5 on iTunes. Not sure how Gok is involved.
Kele Le Roc is still a THING?
I thought she was and remained a two hit wonder from 1998.
It's not terrible, just WHY?
Roc n' roll baby (D). I'm all for this, but hope Gok Wan is nowhere to be seen or heard. She should have gone on to much better things.
I was more surprised to see Kele le Roc at #1 on iTunes than Gok Wan.
Gok Wan is a DJ these days. Who knew.
let us not forget this, her highest charting song. Albeit she didn’t get a featuring credit
She ABSOLUTELY 100% deserved a credit in Romeo, she sang the WHOLE SONG!
Basement Jaxx are pretty terrible at crediting most of their vocalists tbh, but to not credit her on Romeo was SHOCKING
They all fucking are. Easy bit of money on the PA circuit.
I never knew that was Kele Le Roc on Romeo
It is pretty shocking isn't it.
I would say four of Basement Jaxx's most enduring songs are:
Oh My Gosh
ALL of which did not have the vocalist credited..! (or if they were, it certainly wasn't prominently like Rui De Silva ft Cassandra as an example)
Romeo is such a classic. The other songs @wurst mentioned above and especially Rendez-Vu are also fabulous. I hammered their GH back in the day, but they were STRICTLY a SINGLES ACT
For me Romeo, Plug It In and Cish Cash are the Basement Jaxx podium prizes.
They really do have some amazing singles, Feelings Gone featuring Sam Sparro is
They've really worked with some great acts over the years and also Lady Sov
