Considering gymnastics and diving are practically the same thing, that's 10 medals in total, double the amount rowing got.

Still more potential medals to come tonight in the High Jump, women's 1500m and possibly some British men in the 110m hurdles.

Surely Kenny will get a knighthood soon.

I don't understand how we managed that medal haul in London when we seem to be doing better now in completely different sports already.

You can get odds of about 8.00 for Jason Kenny as Sports Personality of the Year.

I'd still put bets on Andy Murray (again), especially if he does well in the US Open. But the public might want a change.

Must be the start of the legacy Seb Coe was talking about at the end of the 2012 Olympics.

We've got young gymnasts and swimmers that were too young in 2012.

Bring on the Paralympics. I'm not quite sure if it will ever be as big as London. Hope the stadium isn't completely empty in Rio.

We must have done a lot better in athletic events at London - although I've not read anything about us falling short in any disciplines this year so I've no idea.

We've still racked up a SPECTACULAR amount of medals.

Boxing feels like a failure this year.

It is. We had a few promising boxers but about half of them got drawn against the world number one in the second round.

Mind you, we got a bronze today & Nicola Adams is still there, and one man in the super heavy semis.

And another woman, apparently. But we got four golds last time, so that's not going to happen again.

I'm just browsing what's left for GB in non-athletics events. There's not an awful lot - Jade Jones in the Taekwando, the women's hockey team and Alistair Brownlee in the triathlon are good bets though.

Knowing our luck, this might be the first year we win the BMX lottery.

Nope. The other three events finish tomorrow also and we look well out of the medals.

I've no idea how good our entrants are at modern pentathlon, although apparently we do have a target of 1-2 medals, so

Samantha Murray won silver in 2012, so perhaps she's a contender.

James Cooke is the current world number 1 and Joe Choong is ranked 23rd.

Kate French and Samantha Murray are both top 30 in the women's rankings.

It's a lottery. It depends so heavily on which horse they get.

The weightlifting was great fun (as always). WR beaten three times, but the one who got the WR in the snatch failed to complete and lift in the clean and jerk and goes hope empty handed.

If I were in the Frenchman's position, I don't think I would strengthen character to stand there.

That Australian sow who flopped in the cycling has already accused us of cheating. That one with the Alopecia put her in her place though.

I can't believe there's been so much booing at these Olympics. Even when it's directed towards Americans it's still inexcusable.

To be fair to Meares it sounded more like she was just aghast at the science of everything that we have - the French however were definitely alluding to drugs.

I see we came 4th in the high jump, by the slightest of margins.

Gracenote predicting we'll end up with 23 golds and 68 medals all in all, with China ending on 24 golds and 70 medals. Looking VERY beatable :disco:
