Also to be fair, Mo and boxing are pretty much our only medal chances left. We'll get boxing, so whether we beat London's medal total rests mostly on Mo.

And maybe the women's relay, but that's an outside chance.

That was a brilliant time for Sharp though in the 800m.

Our only golds in the athletics will be Mo related. That's pretty poor, actually.

Thank fuck for that. I fell asleep and missed everything in the last hour but caught the last half of that race.

Katerina Johnson-Thompson's high jump effort looks like it might have got the gold medal!

(She made 1.98m, nobody in the high jump final has made over 1.97m)

I think i read a few days ago that we'd had significantly more 4th places than in London. I wonder if that's still true.

I don't know who ran the third leg, but she was amazing. The second leg runner was poor.

She's got her Olympic and World gold, she's in her 30's. I think it would be more of a shame for her just to carry on for the sake of it and not make finals etc.

I also like that we have more Golds than Silver and more Silvers than Bronze. No other country in the Top 10 has that.

After that excitement I am so annoyed we got that stupid DQ in the men's 4x400. The way we were running that was another medal :grr:

It's difficult to get in quick on wikipedia, but at least i've edited Steve Backley's wikipedia page which claimed he was the only GB athlete to win medals in three consecutive games. I win.

What splendid news to be waking up to! I always assumed we did so well in London because we were on home turf. It warms the cockles to know it's actually because we're just good in general.

It's probably mostly to do with funding and how that has continued since 2012. It's got to stay that way or we'll just go back to how it was before.

I like the way Big O has a perfect set of the three medals. I can find very few others with same.
