Aren't the press shit? Cropping photos just to show Tom Fucking Daley who, even though he seems like a nice guy and all that, is beginning to get RIGHT ON MY TITS for no fault of his own WHATSOEVER.

Are we due any golds today? Slow going so far...

We've got a pretty strong chance in the canoe slalom.

Some of the papers that DID include DANIEL GOODFELLOW's photo didn't actually manage to name DANIEL GOODFELLOW'S name, which happens to be DANIEL GOODFELLOW, next to the photo showing DANIEL GOODFELLOW.

I don't want to make this another Tom Daley Fan Thread (see yesterday's topic :D) but I do think he is an incredibly tricky position and is handling it terribly well

A Dutch gymnast has been expelled from the team for drinking alcohol apparently.

I'm okay with Tom being the golden boy of watersports, but his partner (didn't quite catch his name there, Sharla?) is much better looking.

I'm also sick of the lesbian rugby. If only it lasted 7 minutes. The men had better start soon, I'll watch that of course.

I'm so over being over Tom Daley that I'm back on him again. Except for the body shaving, or more particularly the shaved in treasure trail.

Catching up on last nights swimming, Siobhan-Marie O'Connor has a good chance of Gold or Silver in the 200 Medley tonight :disco:

And I agree. It's not HIM. It's just the way he's FAWNED over by the press and the way they BANG ON about it. Adam Peaty is shaping up to be one of our greatest of all time and he gets a MILLIONTH of the publicity because he's NOT QUITE AS PRETTY...

This is what irked me in 2012. People like eg. Helen Glover/Heather Stanning getting little publicity for winning GOLD over potential celebrity pretty boy fodder Daley.

Echoing Sheena, not his fault though.

The BBC's expert thinks that Tom Daley was pictured on his own because the various photo editors needed something 'tall and thin' to fill their space. One or two other possibilities come to mind for that.

If only there were an Olympic event that frequently required two participants to make long thin shapes at the same time and perfectly in line with each other.

Why is the diving pool green?

This would never happen at my local pool.

Don't tell me they didn't clean the kiddie pool. It looks unsanitary.

    It looks disgusting.

I'm switching to the girlie gymnastics. Hopefully the US women are a bit more modest than their men.

Oh it's HER from that picture from the London Olympics. They do look like gold wouldn't be good enough. Gymnastics is AWESOME.

It was a classic when they switched to the canoeing on the news channel

    *gets off to good start*
*feed inexplicably changes to women playing tennis*
    *dear Clive starts to apologise*
    *test card*
*"And he's TOTALLY FUCKED IT UP"*

    :D

One of the men was interviewed today and said they (the men) should be allowed to compete shirtless to encourage more men to take up the sport.

GB girls in third. I can't do this for a second day in a row.

The North Korean duo got all 9s from every judge when they weren't anywhere near as in sync as some other couples with lesser marks.

The Brazillians appear to be more concerned with their makeup than gymnastics.

The GB men are doing well in Lesbian Rugby and have won the first two matches, but they've got New Zealand next, even though they lost to Japan, who GB beat. GB could still top the group.

GB girls are having a late surge in the gymnastics, seems they will need a miracle to get higher than 4th though
