Lots of sitting down sports for us to (hopefully) thrive in today.

sitting down sports are clearly the best.

Time Trial is very unreliable to bank on, but we should get somewhere in rowing & short cycling. And hopefully a bit better in the canoe today.

These stats seem to suggest that not all hope is lost...

Yeah, it totally isn't over. Velodrome cycling, rowing & boxing medals haven't even begun yet and that's where we'll take the most. And of course we'll pick up a few at athletics, and some at sailing.

To pick up any in the first few days, which is predominately shooting, weightlifting, archery and swimming is pretty rare for us in any Olympic year.

We've done so many in Swimming compared to any in my immediate memory, it's amazing. There appears to be a new generation of great British swimmers now that were too young in 2012.

At the end of day four in London team gb only had four medals, compared with the 6 they have now. So hope is definitely not lost. Day five was the start of the gold rush though.

We always have a really slow start. I'm assuming the schedule of events is always the same each Games though..?

Always pretty similar. Rowing's been delayed by a day this time though due to the winds on Monday...

I thought it was. I remember it being very similar in London.

Did the rowing happen yesterday? It looked horrendously choppy at the weekend so I'm glad they postponed it.

Yeah I think so, I remember reading that some Brits had qualified for a final (and some had not)

The rowing venue is very picturesque but the winds seem to be causing some real problems. I'm not sure what they do if they can't get it all finished before the end of the Games.

What's all this SHIT weather going on in Brazil? At least it was expected in these Isles. Not that they can help it, but I was very much of the impression Rio di Janiero was bathed in all year sunshine.

That's not really that true at all - I think in Rio around 75% of days are cloudy. I've spent a cumulative 4 weeks there and of those, about 5 days were sunny.

    Plus it's winter there.

Well, we got 5 medals in boxing at the London Olympics

This time, I think we've got 5 left (and that's partly because 3 of them haven't had a match yet) and we're nowhere near the finals.

    Oh dear

Now it looks like we won't get anything in Men's time trial too. Meh.

We were super in the lead in rugby 7s and now NZ are smashing it. Of course.

And we have a semi finalist in the Judo, so that should be another fourth place.

Do really have nothing in rowing? It's usually a guaranteed haul.
