The tragic thing about this, of course, is that it all happened when Aston from JLS was still in the comp. Why the public chose to hate the Viclaw over him is still a mystery to me.

That's not how it happened AT ALL.

She ALWAYS divided opinion, from GO.

She was never a hate figure at all though. It all started to pile on rather randomly before/after 'Call Me', and then obv the sick week gave the haters all the ammunition they needed. And it lasted them all series, sadly.

Diana was actually quite the X Factor martyr.

I started really hating her when she did Smile. Everything about it, the way she was presented, the simpering, barely intelligible vocal, the CLAW just made me want to punch the screen. She was Katie Waisel levels of annoying.

Katie Waissell at least came across as tragic enough to be quite endearing. Diana was far more annoying.

I hated her since the first moment I saw her, but that might just have been me.

I loved Diana's first audition. S Club 7, Damien Rice and Kelly Clarkson all at once. Perfect.

Only 1 of those 3 comparisons is a compliment

    Katie was fab though!

It's not really a comparison. They genuinely played "Bring It All Back", "Cannonball" and "Breakaway" during it, in that order. Magic moment for me.

I'd forgotten to mention that I also like "You'll Never Get to Heaven".

Her album was vastly better than it had any right to be.

She's turned into Jenny Frost. They should play Jenny's Don't Fuck With Me on the next ad if she gets one.

"Ooh a love ma lerather am proper indie me you knurr".

I liked your album, but fuck off Vickers.

    This

It’s actually held up pretty well

Once, The Boy Who Murdered Love, Put It Back Together, You’ll Never Get To Heaven are all keepers

My Wicked Heart remains a mad choice to try and relaunch the album with - what were they thinking?

I just gave Once a spin for the first time in what must be 7-8 years.

My God, the production has aged horribly. It sounds cheaper than one of her 'Studio 54 inspired' Very jumpsuits.

Once was mint. She did a non-album song called Kiss of a Bullet which I fucking loved as well.

Yes, I've just reminded myself of a couple of the songs. She had really toned down her more grating vocal tendencies too.

The Boy Who Murdered Love remains an excellent pop song and I like Once much more now than I did at the time.

Yeah I hated Once until about 6 months later, just hated her vocal “quirks” if you can call them that.

The Boy who murdered love though :disco:
