Remember when in her first solo docu, Geru was peeking out some hotel window to gasp for the petrifying cries from her 6 or so fans as if it were more important than oxygen, freshly binned chocolate cake, paying attention to Bluebell Madge crossing a road, or having something to hold on to on top of a moving taxi? Gaga seems worse if that's even possible.

Okay, maybe she doesn't. There can only be one GERU :D

That "let me be for you the Goddess (capital G!) I know I truly am" part is a bit sad. It just screams mental illness. She's obviously a very complicated artist to work with. Two video fiascos in two consecutive eras.

I'm just going to assume that sourceless article is entirely true and not a work of fan fiction at all.

Me and my friend once wrote a scenario for a video for the Spice Girls Step To Me and it was more believable than this.

If I were to write a Spice Girls video scenario I'd at least do it for a song that's worth it. Like If U can't Dance.

I think R. Kelly adds a nice camp yet likable vibe to the whole affair. It fits. I don't think a solo version would be all that bad, mind, but that extra solo verse is so fucking clunky.

    My bones hurt
    From all the shows
But I don't feel the pain
    Cause I'm a pro

Really? Does R Kelly FIT anywhere these days? I'm sure he's still a great producer, but he's one of those people who need to be handed the cash and left out of the credits. "Likeable" is the last thing people think of when they hear THAT name.

Likable was for the lack of better words. But I stand by that version. It kind of has a sleazy, R&B meets anthemic pop vibe and he compliments the sleaze part very well. He doesn't feel like an opportunistic or unnecessary tacked on part of the song like X-Tina or most other pop collabs do these days.

Yea we taking these haters and we roughin' em up
And we layin' in the club like we don't give a FUUUUUUUUUUCK

    is vital, for example

I'm not even sure he qualifies for "sleazy" either. He'll just always have that tainted and UNFORGIVABLE reputation attached to him. Couple that with Gaga's desperate video antics and you've got something that completely overpowers the song itself.

In fairness, I read a review that said (and I agree with) how R Kelly appears to wander in singing an entirely different song- it's thematically completely missing the point of Gaga's lyrics...

R Kelly is essential to the track for me. I LOVE everything he does on it. I don't understand why we give some artists a pass and not others. Michael Jackson was equally objectionable sexually-speaking and yet no one says we shouldn't sample his stuff or listen to his music.

Only if you're completely obsessed with hating Gaga. The song itself is undeniable and anyone who stopped themselves from enjoying it based on some spurious contextual objections is, frankly, an idiot!

I guess there's a few reasons for it. The allegations against Michael never made it to court and were brought forward before 24 news and at a time where the media and public were slightly less cynical. There's never really been a true consensus of opinion about actual child molesting with Michael. Also, Michael was a bona fide pop legend, one of the most important musical figures of all time. R Kelly's had some truly world conquering HITS, but it's just not approaching the same level as Michael.

    TRUTH!

That solo is so bland after the R Kelly masterpiece.

As much as it's a fantastic song, I don't think anything could have made it as huge as some peeps are claiming it could have been - not even a gagtastic video. Just look at Judas, maximal in all it's maximality and that video :disco: and it FLOPPED SO HARD, darling.

She has a 2nd single floppage curse now. It's almost like the general public realises that she's back with the first single and chooses to completely ignore her existence after that. :(

Babe a lot of people are just blinded by their hatred for her and can't recognise the maximality of many of her tracks.

Anyway I'm not here for the charts (I'm not 12).

"1108 evidence". All brought forward in for 2005 regarding 1993 including the flimsy findings including " child porn" (the closest they came was a book in a library about the movie of Lord of The Flies). Testimonies from everyone involved except for Chandler himself who skipped the country to avoid it. This was all considered in the 2005 verdict. Then of course his father committed suicide not long after MJ's death in 2009.

    JUST BUTTING IN THERE.

The song is undoubtedly fantastic. But I'm just saying I'm not sure how well people are going to receive R Kelly pissing on her. Like ANYONE could have been a better option for a golden shower.

Why are we on about this song anyway? I thought it was dead and buried?

I like it most from the ones I've heard from ARTPOP, and that's saying something as I usually guff at anything R Kelly related, but he's the best thing about it.

I LOVE R Kelly's bit. Yeah he's not exactly appealing. But then she isn't either.

But it's a fucking brilliant pop track and if she'd come back with something like this back when she wasn't so hated it would've been beyond massive.
