Yes. Is repeating the same thing again and again the new tedious? Oh no, just the old tedious.

I find the trolling and the "here's a picture of her being #1 in FIFTY TWO ASIAN COUNTRIEZ" equally annoying but oh well.

Anyways, not sure I'll be reaching for the repeat button for this one because it's just not entirely 'for me' but that's not saying it's not a good song. It is and a pretty smart move at that, good on her. It's the opposite of some of her more frantic (and messy) productions, a bit of versatility and a pretty good vocal overall. Radio would eat it up alive if she released it properly.

I wonder what this means for Venus now. I guess if it underperforms they can push this...

It's THIS QUEEN Gaga's vox reminded me of

I hope R Kelly pisses on Gaga if she doesn't realize that this needs a TEOG-esque RUSH RELEASE.

Royals only gained 0.07, but I expect it to fall within a few days. Unconditionally will probably go to 1 tomorrow.

I hope they push this instead and keep Venus as the third single.

After Xtina legalized rape with Your Body, I've been wondering just what was left to offer guys. I didn't think Gaga singing a Kelly Rowland song would be the trick, but with that grumpy vocal she's hit this one out the dogging park. Say (ha!) what you like, look like a blind trans Madonna drag queen, and Do What You Like (just wear a condom mix) is cock-blocking all other pop songs (not sung by CHER) for me right now. The intro is excellent, my concentration doesn't even lapse when R-Kelley's 'butt-cream' bit comes in now that my listening is into double figures (that is what he sings right?), and the scrappy soul-mama growling is every bit as indulgent as I suspect most people by this stage secretly crave from her. Gaga has gone back to basic.

Wow, those claiming Katy's album is basic can shove its 13 tracks (and 3 bonus tracks) up their own arses, coz this is generic by NUMBERS.

I love it, not surprised the reaction has been so great. She should definitely consider pushing it as the 2nd single.

People are not paying attention to the fact she stole the sample

    OR DIDN'T SHE?

    I genuinely cannot tell

#1 on UK itunes?! She's BACK :disco:

Is there still a chance we could get a video for this? I am looking forward to VENUS but this does need proper single status.

I'd been struggling to work out what the very start of the intro sounded like, and then it came to me.

Lena Philipsson's 'Han jobbar i affär'!

This sounds a lot like So Happy I Could Die to me.

That's my favourite Gaga song so I quite enjoy this. Though it's missing the fabulously desolate air that song has.

Apparently it may not be chart-eligible(like Walking On Air wasn't a few weeks back). Something to do with a certain percentage of downloads coming from album pre-orders.

There's something strange about this song's iTunes performance. It's following a very similar trajectory in the US and UK jumping almost instantly to #1 and getting red updates from the moment it reached the top. Free download for album pre-orders? And in that case does it count towards the charts?

So everyone who had already pre-ordered the album during the Applause push is automatically getting sent this and they're trying to count it as another independent sale? :D

You've got to hand it to her label. They've got more tricks up their sleeve than Penn & Teller.

Yes! I knew it sounded familiar and reached a similar conclusion a while ago. Especially the verses!

I don't know if the whole thing is automatic but it wouldn't surprise me. I've never seen a song shoot to the top with such a huge lead so quickly followed by an instant decrease in sales from that moment.

From what I can understand you are charged for pre-ordering the album when it's released, however if a song is released beforehand you are automatically charge for THAT song when it's released and the download counts then. It's happened recently with Gaga, Katy and the new Bieber album too I think.

It's nothing to do with the artists or the labels but rather how itunes operate.

There was something similar with David Bowie and they allowed him, but that was FAR less dodgy.

This went 6-1 in the US or something?

The real story will be how well it holds up.
