I did this once or twice when I first got my license A perfect reason why teenagers should not be allowed to drive
Yea I drive. Enjoy it a lot more since going electric. Less faff, less noise, ability to fuck off boy racers at the lights.
I drive, don’t currently have a car or a license. I hate driving tests and I failed the test last year (who the fuck cares about parallel parking in 2020). I don’t understand why driving test centers have to be located in the furthest part of the city where you need a car to get to it, it’s all such faff. Also my last car was such a nightmare that I don’t want to deal with mechanics again.
As I said in the other thread the examiner told me to turn right and I went "WHERE, HERE???" and then without signalling took the corner so quickly that the notepad slid from his lap to mine. I then carried on as if nothing had happened.
On my first test I was about to pass and then buggered up the reverse into the parking bay at the test centre at the end It was a bit harsh really, I wasn't lined up properly and pulled forward to retry. He said it has to be done in one manoeuvre and failed me for it.
Renault Zoe 22kWh in white (most of them are as it's the free colour). Well I say white, it spends most of its time white with a hint of grey and the lower half likes to do Dalmatian impressions with road tar.
I lease a blue Nissan Sentra. Its a replacement for my last car, a black Nissan Sentra. I don't know much about cars, but it wasn't very expensive and it gets the job done What do you drive?
Aww this makes me miss having a car. I don't need to drive but I loved it anyway. I also drove a Nissan, but a Sunny. It was such a STUDENT'S car.
I had a red Citroen c4, it was as mentioned a piece of crap. The two previous were Mitsubishi Lancer.
I did a year's worth of lessons and then failed three tests catastrophically. I don't mind; if I'd have passed at the time I'd be dead now.
I like how moopy has the ability to make me feel relatively normal. In real life I have to cast my friendship net fairly wide (beyond 'friends' at all, really) before I'd catch a fellow non-driver.
I do drive STILL and I’m now driving an £80k Audi 70 Plate e-Tron, which is really rather fucking delightful!
Whereas i'm driving a 62 plate fiesta, and I don't care. It goes from a to b. And it's red, and I like red.
Nope. Can't drive and have absolutely no interest in ever learning either. I'm always pleasantly surprised when I find out that some of my favourite pop stars can't drive either.
@Soldi to apologise on-screen? as a non-driver I've always LOVED AUDIS and the e-Tron is the kind of car that makes me want to LEARN. I think I'd even sooner take a Porsche Taycan though.
I spent a fortune on lessons seven years ago and failed the test FOUR TIMES on ONE point every single time To be honest I very much doubt those children miss their mothers as they didn’t look very nice anyway
I do feel TERRIBLY environmental with my e-tron though. And I do like that people STARE when they hear it
I absolutely love my car. I see it as an incredibly fortuitous and lucky purchase back in December last year. After leaving London I couldn’t cope with the lack of transport facilities living back in the northern suburbs and felt very cut off and dependent. But as it turns out it ended up being even more crucial - I can’t imagine not being able to drive anywhere during lockdown. The buses here are shite enough and they’ve been reduced, there’s no local train station (bus links to train but again, reduced) and it’s the sort of service that just comes when it wants. It does go into Liverpool but it literally has to pass through cow and sheep crossings to get to me before it gets to the city. They’ve given up on timetables here. so I’ve ended up using the car even more than I expected. The thought of having to jump a bus right now just to go and buy some milk
What on earth are you doing in the SUBURBS, funkeh I pictured you with a glamorous penthouse overlooking Albert Docks.
as stated above I don't drive, but when I turn 30 (next July) I'm considering maybe taking lessons for a motorbike license... does anybody drive one? I don't really want or need a car, but I like the idea of the freedom a motorbike would bring. if you know someone who was killed driving one, please don't share. I see myself on something like this - definitely affordable as well
cos I decided to go back to where I grew up - I don’t know many people here any more so best to be near family. Which was the right choice. Post covid if I end up staying here I will definitely move to the riverside.
I don't even think I've ever sat in the DRIVERS SEAT of a car, never mind learned to DRIVE! As a zone 2 gay that plans to stay that way INDEFINITELY, it's not a huge deal at all. A BIKE is much more useful than a car. However, being able to drive would be useful when on holiday - thankfully most of my close friends all have the ability so I get to just SIT IN THE CAR and stare out the window
Same here! Although when I did finally pass I had ZERO FAULTS. Tell us what the bloody car is then! Prick tease.
I LOVE cars and so does my husband. We usually have 3 on the go as he loves old bangers - sorry CLASSIC CARS.
I currently drive a KIA Soul - it’s automatic and I bought it with 700 miles on the clock and 6 year warranty. Really pleased with it so far. Before this I had two Mercedes A Class - one amazing and one dreadful. I’m planning to buy a cheap SLK in the new year for weekend thrills. Also had an MGF convertible like VB for a while but that was AWFUL. My favourite car was a £350 mint green Nissan Micra - it was so fun and reliable. I remember just crashing it into walls by accident, like Edina Monsoon, and not really caring because it was indestructible.
