Surely after a year they must be available everywhere now?? Nearly all the Game and HMV stores I pass have signs saying they have them in stock now.

Amazon and John Lewis are the only places worth bothering with on that stock checker thing. But often they've gone by the time you get the alert and go to their website

Everywhere else is either VASTLY OVERPRICED and/or will only sell you it as part of a bundle with SHIT GAMES THEY CAN'T SHIFT

Do you have Computer and Video Games Exchanges down South? They are really manky shops that always have huge queues - If you do GO THERE, you'll be able to buy it by itself and it'll be cheaper than anywhere else

Only if you pick it up!

What's this shit on Amazon Marketplace saying from £290? I thought all the rip off merchants would have died out this far on. I think I paid £180 for the one I got.

I've got a LONG day at work today but I'll pop through a few shops just to see on my way out. There are 2 Game stores and a big HMV round here. It's mainly in central London that I see the In Stock signs everywhere though.

If/when they come down in price, I might get one. I want to play Zelda. Plus Gem would like to have MarioKart Double Dash back again.

Not sure if I'm too fussed about Mario Galaxy. The last Mario game was touted as the game of the year and I found it utterly arm chewingly frustrating (Sunshine this is), I've always been Zelda over Mario anyway.

Super Smash Brothers sounds vaguely fun.... if its online that is.

Not enough out at the moment to justify the console.

Nintendo have known all year that they'd have stocking problems this Christmas - they continually brought extra manufacturing capacity online this year but still can't make em fast enough.

It's gonna be a BUN FIGHT come mid December

    YES and NO

You need a UK, European or I hear even an Australian one

US and Japanese are NO GOs unless you want to have to buy the games from the respective country too

No I was just REALLY LUCKY. The day before Amazon had had some stock in at midnight and everyone on that moneysaving forum was saying "Ooh ooh will Amazon have more stock in tonight?.". I thought "that sounds like a LONG SHOT TO ME" but I just thought I'd CHECK and BY KYLIE it came up TRUMPS.

RRP for a second hand item seems like a particularly POOR deal.

There are TONS of Wiis on Amazon.de which get you a brand new one for RRP.

When the wii is out of stock, it goes OVER rrp on Ebay.

My boss was considering selling his recently because people were paying £350 for them...

Have they? In what way? You can't restrict the import of goods from other EU countries - it's anti competitive.

You could still order them from there this week. You can get US and Japanese ones just as easily even though this is the area where Nintendo (and Sony) are really trying to clamp down.

Yeah, you can get the Wii chipped. And once you do you can do all sorts of shit to it I think.

Also could be worth your while investigating TVersity. I think it can stream and transcode media wirelessly from your PC to your Wii.

So if you've downloaded some tunes or films to your PC and want to watch them on your big TV without burning a DVD, Tversity sends it to the TV via your Wii.

I do the same on my PS3. Its just fab. It means that basically I have 700GB of films, tv shows and music in my front room whenever I want.

I'm pretty damn sure you CAN import a Wii from Germany. I don't see how Nintendo could stop it frankly.

You CAN import a Wii from France or Germany IF you can find a retailer who will send them.

Amazon.de and amazon.fr recently stopped shipping Wiis to the UK - this was supposedly their decision and not Nintendo's

    Ooh, interesting...

Sounds like Mr Nintendo might have let Amazon know that their supply of Wiis could dry up unless they cancelled that lorry to the UK... :D
