A really skilled hit man could take Trump and Christie out with one bullet. Just one bullet is all it takes.

Slightly OT: but is anyone else seeing Susan Sarandon's one woman vendetta against Hilary? Just what is going on there?

    Did Susan fuck Bill?

Well he's now certain to be the nominee and the apocalypse is approaching.

Not certain, but very likely given the Republicans have shown fuck all clue on what to do about him. Rubio must be furious with Kasich. It's almost hilarious how a lot of the GOP higher ups seemed to switch from 'we won't attack him so we get his votes when he drops out' to 'HE'S INEVITABLE WE MAY AS WELL GET ON BOARD'.

Still think Hillary will win against him though. For all the (actually fairly patronising) claims of how the 'white working class' will all love him, a lot of the hype doesn't really consider how much a lot of people who even voted Romney really dislike him.

If there's one upside of Trump's success, it's that the lovely Ann Coulter is about to appear on C4 news.

This is such a bizarre mess. I can't quite believe it's real.

I think she just doesn't like warmongers.

This is long so I haven't watched it all yet, but I hear it's amazing:

Mitt Romney is surely seen as an insider by Trump fans, this will have no bearing.

I don't think anything has any bearing any more. He's tapped into a really nasty undercurrent in the American population and nothing he or anyone else says or does can puncture him at this point.

Not with Trump fans, but it will in November if nothing else.

And it probably won't stop him, but it might have an effect on people who haven't made their minds up who respect him - his reputation isn't anywhere near as bad with the Republican rank and file as Blair's was with Labour. And unlike Corbyn, Trump doesn't have majority support yet in the primaries.

Given he's so far ahead at this point, are the Republican elites still speaking out against him in such strongly worded terms tacitly admitting another Democrat presidency is preferable to them than a Republican majority under Trump? What will they say if/when he wins the nomination?

It seem undeniable right now, but it's not too late for someone else to get ahead, if the others just dropped out. Having said that, wouldn't we prefer Trump who is less likely to win against Clinton?

It's the total opposite of 2008. It's damaged goods all round.

I'd still take Trump over Cruz, because I'd worry Cruz might actually win an election.

I'd take Trump over Cruz, because Cruz is probably more insane. But he hides it like a true sociopath.

Two highlights from last night's Republican debate

<blockquote class="twitter-video" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">You know what I think flew onto Ted Cruz's lip during the <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/GOPDebate?src=hash">#GOPDebate</a>? And that's not including Trump talking about his cock.

It really is BEYOND PARODY now isn't it.Surely he can't win with against an incumbent Democratic government? Why would anyone swing back from voting Obama in the last election to voting Trump in this one? I suppose the hope is he mobilises the white working class who don't usually vote, but surely his huge numbers so far have been on account of the extremes of the republican party, and he's not going to convince any swing voters in the middle surely?

    WE CAN ONLY HOPE.

Rubio DEAD. Ted Cruz is now the realistic moderate candidate for the Republican Party.

This website's quite nice for tracking the live implied probabilities of the GOP candidates clinching the nomination:
    http://nomination-odds.com

    Currently 72% Trump, 12% Cruz, 10% Kasich

Only a 5% chance of a brokered convention?

Or is it only a 5% chance of someone other than Trump, Cruz or Kasich coming out victorious from a brokered convention?

I'd immediately write off Cruz and Kasich in the event of a brokered convention - surely the only other option would be a compromise candidate not voted on until that point? I'd give that outcome at the very least a one in ten chance, if not more.

To be honest at this point, I'm rooting for Trump for the Republican nomination, as the only possible alternative (Cruz) is even worse.
