Was the Turing thing as good as Derek Jacobi's "Breaking The Code"?

    I don't know coz I AIN'T SEEN THAT

Tonight the last part of LUVVIE and OLD QUEEN Simon Russell Beale's story of the SYMPHONY

The best thing about this is the way he is always spotted eating CAKE at all possible opportunities

I WANTED to watch MELV BRAGG's show about John Steinbeck at 8 this evening but for REASONS THAT ARE NOT OBVIOUS TO ME it has been replaced with TEDIOUS OLD FOSSIL ATTENBOROUGH going on about POPULATION CONTROL

BBC4 are ALWAYS pulling things at the last minute. There's a Room at the Top adaptation from months ago that STILL hasn't been shown, because about five hours before it was meant to air they realised nobody had cleared the rights to make the thing. And recently they had to cancel repeating The Singing Detective for similar reasons

I bet Steinbeck's RISEN from the GRAVE and threatened to SUE

And i wish Simon Russell Beale would present things i want to watch. Though him eating cake sounds quite appealing enough.

They're spending a lot of time on the early years, which is good but I have a feeling after they cover Purple Rain it may be a quick skip to record company feuds, name changes and the more recent touring comeback :(

Apologies for the intrusion but it's REM night tonight - 2 programmes, the first is one of those cobbled "...at the BBC" numbers, the second their classic "Later" from around the time of "Up". It contains the absolute best version of "Country Feedback" they ever played as well and is worth it for that alone. I mean, "Lotus" actually sounds quite good and that's saying something.

I now return you to your scheduled programme

I think OLD JEWS TELLING JOKES may be the greatest television show of all time.

She did a cover of Don't Leave Me This Way, didn't she... but then so has practically everyone I suppose.

I have these disco programmes recorded ready to watch at an opportune time.

I watched the lot in one sitting (well, the two docs- "Disco at the BBC" will have to wait.

LOVED them both, though "Queens of Disco" was obviously made fourteen years ago. ISH. Loved Grace Jones OFF HER FACE on champagne and quite blatantly slurring though :D

I noticed the year at the end of Queens of Disco - I THINK it was 2007. Oh well my comment about Gloria Gaynor looking FABULOUS still stands
