Rupaul is on the latest WTF podcast for those interested.
Has anyone listened to Katya’s new podcast Whimsically Volatile, recorded after her rehab stint?
I know her humour is off the wall and that she owns her strangeness and plays up to it but listening to it this morning she doesn’t sound well at all. It’s worrying.
Yeah, I listened to it and thought it was very uncomfortable listening. Apparently she had a meth relapse, a heart attack and almost had a restraining order taken out against her by somebody close in 2018. It's MARCH. If they are comfortable returning to the public eye, fair enough, but they sound much more manic and scattershot than they have before.
I managed about five minutes of the podcast and that was quite enough. I really don’t want to be witness to it, as all I’m sensing is someone who is very far from being in a stable place. You’d hope that her management would have had a word. It also doesn’t particularly help that the new Beardy Brian Look reminds me of a combination of the most fundamentally rotten person I have ever met and Jason Gardiner
Two hours? No.
Katya sounds really disturbed. Lots of wild tangents mid-sentence which never seem to come back around to the original point. I hope she gets some proper help.
It took me two minutes to clock that Katya was HIGH as a FUCKING KITE on this.
Are you sure you weren’t listening to What’s the T?
Yes, Ru is completely drug fucked from years of abuse but Katya is actually really worrying because it's clear she's still using and the guy she's presenting with seems to be some kind of enabler.
I arrived in work having listened to half of the podcast absolutely drained and numb; I don't think this is going to have a happy ending if it continues like this.
Exactly. She needs to shut it down, take it elsewhere and sort it. I don’t want Katya to be our next dead queen but that’s where this is going. TBH I’ve never been able to stomach (or sit through) her boring, overlong and excessively self-exposing confessions to camera and if this is what we’ll be getting via these rambling podcasts on an even more alarmingly fucked up level then GURL BYE
I only listened to about a minute of the podcast but why is everyone so certain she's high and dying? It just feels like everyone is jumping to conclusions based on minimal information.
Because you can tell from her speech patterns that she's not of SOUND MIND.
Where do you I find this podcast?
Just do a search for "Whimsically Volatile" in your favourite podcast catcher.
What's... a podcast catcher?
I'm sorry, I really DON'T KNOW
Ere y’are darlin’
Great news! Brand new HOUR LONG episode of ‘Whimsically Volatile’ out now, everyone!
Unfortunately I’ll be far too busy doing a sideways shit
I’ve not put myself through Katya’s second serving of self-obsessed, rambling, unfunny drivel, but I see that she reveals that if she could change her name, it would be Tina
Ah well. At least I’ll never again have to spend hours debating whether Katya or Jinkx is my #1 queen
Also - and this is my final anti-Katya post (for now ) - isn’t it a bit suspicious and frankly kind of VILE that she returned to Twitter a mere THREE DAYS after Trixie won AS3?
What a limelight-grabbing little skank
Anyway, back to stars and moons in the Enya thread
Well YES and you can eyeroll if you want but I hadn’t seen those tweets when I posted that. And it HAS taken her quite a while to get round to saying it, so I do kind of stand by that comment
Also, I thought she’d been in rehab and not the “loony bin” but quite honestly I don’t know what’s true with her at the minute and what’s not. Obviously I shall love her always but (a) I don’t think we’re ever going to have Katya back as we knew her, so as a Katyastan I’m going to be (selfishly and unreasonably) angry about this beardy, excessively tattooed (and IMO alarmingly unhinged) thing taking her place, and (b) I’m currently truly sick of addict behaviour, not least my own, so basically it’s all about ME ME ME
Far too tired to work out how to share a link - phew, gym, wow - but episode 9 of Katya’s Whimsically Volatile with Bianca is quite a lot of fun, not least because it features queens who actually ARE funny rather than utterly fucking useless ones who THINK they are, NO NAMES MENTIONED OBVIOUSLY
In the latest (even more insufferable than usual - WHY DO I SUBJECT MYSELF TO IT) What's The Tee, Michelle and Ru essentially take credit for the Cult Of Vanjie. Apparently it's the way they reacted to her exit that has made it iconic.
WTF? We didn't see their reaction until the next episode, when it was already viral. Seriously
I’m just agog he can remember one of the queens’ names.
Well REALLY. I can barely remember what they did, apart from Ru trying to keep his glue-on face intact while trying not to laugh and Madame basically repeating what had already been said by Queen Vanessa, unless that was the sum total, in which case NO
Ru does HAVE a glue-on face when in drag, does he not? Surely even Touche Éclat can’t be THAT thick
Is anyone listening to Alaska and Willam's podcast where they analyse each episode?
Looking forward to them spending Season 2 defending Tyra.
Oh what’s it called?
Race Chaser. It's on Spotify with cameos from Tammie Brown.
I've been listening every week, and as much as I find both of them very engaging, the content isn't gripping me so much.
It's a shame seasons 2 forward have gone from Netflix so I can't watch along with it when it gets there.
There's some interesting background which I like. Not sure how they'll keep it up for 13 seasons without some major repetition. I guess the guests can only help.
I agree, I've listened to so many of the podcasts about Drag Race and it's the best in that it combines chemistry and humour with tidbits and background.
New found appreciate for Shannel. I am beautiful...internally and on the outside.
I bent in and subscribed to the Wow Presents app. It's cheap and has all the early seasons.
That sounds like a form of tucking.
I still find the Moviebitches to be my personal favourite of the recap shows. Though they're just YouTube, not a podcast. They've done seasons 1,2,3,8,9 and 10 to date, plus AS2 & 3.
1. Race Chaser
2. Alright Mary (geeky over analysis of every interaction between everyone)
3. Drag Race Recap
4. Squirrel Friends Cocktail Hour
But I like them all.
I’ll add my name to the Race Chaser love. Thanks for the tip off @Chlammy
I just like hearing them talking about any old shit.
I never knew that Willam was planned to go on All Stars at one point, I wonder why he never ended up on it
Also I don’t know why, but I enjoy Alaska saying “I appreciate you”
They called him at the last minute and said he'd been replaced.
The SHADE is real HENNY
I don't think I need to see or hear from Eureka ever again.
