Are some EFFNIK voters voting OUT though with the (probably illusory) idea that this will lead to the favouring of Commonwealth immigration over EU immigration?

Would you though? If you're just pointing out that FACT that her Dad emigrated here and that's the reason why she's here and able to vote.

But no matter how COMMON SENSE-ical that is it could be twisted. Fucking morons!

He probably had to work through his fag break because some forruner came into A&E with massive internal bleeding, and bitter about it!

Perhaps they see the good AND bad sides of uncontrolled immigration more than the average person.

That's the exact thing I want to say to her. She's definitely benefitted from her Dad moving here, it infuriates me that she thinks others shouldn't have the same option. I'm sure she would have been the first to kick off at people objecting when her dad moved over.

Just came back from voting. :)

Down here in Penzance, quite a few people campaigning for stay, no signs of leave which was a pleasant surprise.

I'm not British and I'm not voting, though I could vote - I just am choosing not to, as per the last thread, as I don't feel comfortable having a say in such a big issue when I'm not (yet) a perm resident.

VOTED. I feel so strongly about this that you'd easily be mistaken for thinking that I was voting for LIVE OR DIE

My FB was 100% remain until a few minutes ago when all the people I went to school with in Luton crawled out of the woodwork :D

I am worried - I think it's going to be much closer than we imagine

My facebook is pretty much 95% in.

Two notable exceptions - a fairly intelligent guy I used to work with and now works as an economist in the city, and has been actively campaigning (I think he even had a stall in a train station or something) and a dimwit I worked with at a supermarket.

I have two clear Leave voters in my FB friend's list.

One is a Tory supporting, Boris Johnson SUPERFAN (she even named her cat after him). She's also the one who was privileged enough to cancel her holiday while on holiday (because it was raining at bit), and book a new holiday. I really need to get RID!

The other's some young boy who has romanticised the GREAT British Empire of the past and wants a return to that! :manson:

Don't be too worried - if it's 50-50 nationally Luton's forecast to go Leave by about 57-43 anyway.

What an awful place this Luton seems to be! Has anything good ever come out of it?

It is genuinely an awful place. I think Sunderland is the only UK town I have visited that is more depressing.

But that's a big IF. I may well be gone within a year, so as I'm not sure yet on whether I will become a citizen it just didn't sit with me, nor did I know enough (prior to a week ago) about it to really make an informed choice and as a postal vote it was a bit late.

Loving all the paranoid people going "TAKE UR OWN PEN DONT USE THERE PENCILS!!!"

An old colleague has commented that when he used to count, votes in pen were counted as spoilt ballots. I DO hope this is true
