It's going to be so interesting to see what does and doesn't fly with voters from this semi. Portuguese queer performance art? Icelandic fetish metal? Polish women screaming aggressively about fire for three minutes?

There's definitely going to be some surprises, but before seeing any of the stage shows I'd say...

Hmmm... so far the only ones I would rule out are Georgia, San Marino and Montenegro. The others all have a chance of varying degrees.

I'd add Finland in with the non-qualifiers - generic dance music never does well.

Yeah that would be next on my list.

No one seems to give Belarus any hope at all, but I'm not so sure. Her NF performance wasn't the best, but I think it has potential!

    I'd only categorically rule out two (super obvious) songs at this stage so this is liable to be very, very wrong;

    Safe
    Cyprus
    Greece

    Semi-Safe
    Portugal
    Iceland

    Comfortable
    Estonia
    Australia
    Serbia

    Borderline-IN
    Czech Republic
    Slovenia
    Belarus

    Borderline-OUT
    Hungary
    Belgium

    Struggling
    Finland
    San Marino
    Poland

    No Chance
    Montenegro
    Georgia

Looking at the songs in the second half I’m not that surprised San Marino is last. I wish Slovenia was a little bit later.

But what a contrast to the screaming Poles before it.

True. I still hate the Polish song. But that one and Georgia are the only ones I really hate this year.

That’s a good draw for Greece, isn’t it?
I have high hopes for the song.

I mean it's not bad, but who's going to remember a thing about Greece the moment Queen Serhat steps out on stage? :disco:

They’re certainly NOT winning this semi. Hopefully the staging will be awful and it’ll get an amusingly mediocre placing to serve them right for not sending something in Greek

I think they could as well. I see them finishing high with both juries but might not win with either.

Yeah I think Greece have a fairly good shout.

    I wouldn't discount Belgium either.

I’m surprised they put Belgium so early on in the running order.

I don't think Belgium is strong enough to win the semi. The verses are great and then that chorus comes along, and it's a bit - 'is that it?'

I'm still working out my qualifiers but at the moment I am thinking:

    1. Cyprus
    5. Slovenia
    7. Hungary
    8. Belarus
    9. Serbia
    10. Belgium
    13. Iceland
    14. Estonia
    15. Portugal
    16. Greece

Is it too early to CHANGE MY PREDICTIONS already? :D

I think (and tbh hope) these 9 should be pretty safe:

    Cyprus: Tamta - Replay
Czech Republic: Lake Malawi - Friend of a Friend
Hungary: Joci Pápai - Az én apám
    Serbia: Nevena Božović - Kruna
Slovenia: Zala Kralj & Gašper Šantl - Sebi
Australia: Kate Miller-Heidke - Zero Gravity
Greece: Katerine Duska - Better Love
Iceland: Hatari - Hatrið Mun Sigra
    Portugal: Conan Osiris - Telemoveis

Unsure about the final qualifier - I'm going to say Poland as it's my favourite of what's left :disco:
Poland: Tulia - Fire of Love (Pali Się)

    Leaving non-qualifiers:
    Belarus: Zena - Like It
Finland: Darude feat. Sebastian Rejman - Look Away
    Montenegro: D Moll - Heaven
    Belgium: Eliot - Wake Up
    Estonia: Victor Crone - Storm
Georgia: Oto Nemsadze - Sul tsin iare
San Marino: Serhat - Say Na Na Na

Genuinely wouldn't be surprised to see Finland come last with that MESS.

    (In no particular order)

    Cyprus
    Hungary
    Poland
    Serbia
    Australia
    Belgium
    Estonia
    Greece
    Iceland
    Portugal

Although Belgium haven't been getting very good reviews I still think it's one of the strongest songs and will make it

Slovenia: Zala Kralj & Gašper Šantl - Sebi

    Leaving non-qualifiers:
    Belarus: Zena - Like It
Finland: Darude feat. Sebastian Rejman - Look Away

Hasn't Georgia looked quite striking in rehearsals? I'm not saying it'll qualify (although currently I predict it might) but it's VERY dramatic even if I'm not sure what the drama is all about.

It's a weird semi where the stage shows are surely going to help dictate what goes through.
