Today I will be mostly mixing records and putting up a big marquee. I wish this was work.

I’ve found a job I want for a salary I want for a company I want and for which I’m immensely qualified.

But it’s in a London. I so don’t want to work in a London.

How far away are you, could you work from home some of the time?

I live in Portsmouth, so about 1.5 hours commute- and if I could get away with working at home a couple of days a week, it would be fine and is what I will end up suggesting.

I'm going to go for it anyway...

I've just described someone I dislike as having "a face like a ripped gymbag" and I'm quite pleased with myself.

I've basically taught myself to mix in a week. The sync button helps but I'm pretty sure I could do without. No wonder every cunts a dj these days.

Absolutely! It's good experience doing the interview, even if I don't get the job...

I still can't mix. I should probably try and bother doing so at some point...

Get traktor and use the sync, then after a while you get a feel for the concept of mixing intros/outros, then you can turn it off and mix by ear.

I also personally find the visual representation of the music to be really helpful.
