The tone is all over the place, it’s very slapstick and then you get Isabelle Adjani screaming and throwing herself at the walls for 15 minutes.

I couldn't believe this as THAT scene is so integral so I checked and my Netflix GIVES ME COCK. Obviously the VoR no-cock filter is activated

Anyway I'm going to go and see PETERLOO seeing as some of it was filmed outside my office. Could go either way, I'm always WARY of films that go over 2 hours *bum goes numb*

I went to see Robin Hood yesterday. It wasn’t as bad as the critics have made out but it was certainly a hot mess.

Oh wasn’t it marvellous? I can’t think of the birthday cake or the poor man with the pretend wife or hare lip boy ending up in a mess with his horrible mates or indeed ANY OF IT without going a bit unnecessary. The track at the end was fantastic as well

    FILM OF THE YEAR :disco:

When I was watching Wreck it Ralph at the weekend, they showed the trailer for Secret Life of Pets 2. I’m abnormally excited about this.

Do we have a thread on Disobedience? I saw it yesterday and thought it was brilliant - can't find a thread tho I'm sure there was one.

I saw Green Book tonight and thought it was really excellent. It was the secret viewing at Cineworld - not sure if Odeon usually have the same previews. Think it’s out in February. It’s a Farrelly brother (just one) but don’t let that put you off.

I’m not sure where to put this but I feel compelled to share as it’s just turned up on random and if you’ve never seen ‘La double vie de Véronique’ then quite frankly you’re probably BETTER OFF DEAD

I think this horribly tragic titbit might lure in my fellow SISTERS GRIM if they’ve not already seen it :disco:

Incidentally that’s not the END of the film :tongueout:

I thought it was very broad (not surprising considering it’s a Farrelly affair).

Oh hai film buffs is LIZZIE any good pls? (can’t see a thread about it) I am mostly interested in it for murderous women and Sevigny-Stewart smouldering lez action.

I haven’t seen it but most reviews have been average.

Nah. Saw it at the LFF in October. A generous 2 stars.

Have you watched Dekalog? Despite this and Trois Couleurs all probably making my all-time top 50, I've never gotten around to it. 10 hours is so intimidating.

Oh yes! It’s absolutely stunning and you simply must watch it. Pencil in two Dekalogs an evening when it’s snowing, the heating’s broken down and all you’ve got left in the house is vodka

Actually I really should get round to watching Fassbinder’s ‘Berlin Alexanderplatz’ but that always seems a bit too long to cope with, so I might take my own advice

in the ‘entirely too long but rewarding genre’ I can really recommend Sion Sono’s Love Exposure
