I'm aware that list makes me look like a stan for the 'Joanne' album. I'm really not fussed on it though for me those are four of her best songs and make the project worthwhile.

Joanne wasn't quite the disaster I was anticipating after "Perfect Illusion" (what tuneless ROT) BUT it was her first album to lack any 10/10 moments or anything really with replay value. Even the more redeemable moments ("Dancin' in Circles", "Joanne") never get spun.

    Anyway, when she was good:

    1. Bad Romance
    2. Do What U Want
    3. So Happy I Could Die
    4. Paparazzi
    5. Heavy Metal Lover
    6. Telephone
    7. Summerboy

    10. Bloody Mary

Only one song in everyone's top 10 so far; I never expected that to be 'Heavy Metal Lover'.

I think it's the minor key work that pulls my strings. It's brilliantly bittersweet :disco:

Gags teaming up with noted perves R Kelly and Terry Richardson for "Do What U Want" is a truly BAFFLING moment in pop.

I hope I'm still around for the TELL ALL biography when she explains just what the fuck she was thinking about.

    Is it?

I thought it was about Gags being a dreadful, self absorbed, die hard cunt, who got luckier than she ever thought she would.

Or maybe that's JUST ME :D

The Cure” is a feel-good anthem about unconditional love for someone.

During her first live performance of this song at Coachella 2017, Gaga told the crowd: “I love you guys so much. I have been through so much in my life and I’ve seen so much. And you cure me every time with your love”

That performance was the debut of the song, which was released on streaming platforms and iTunes shortly after.

In early March 2017, Gaga was spotted venturing back into the recording studio. Many fans speculated a follow up to 2016’s Joanne was in the works, until the release of “The Cure.” Gaga confessed before premiering the song at Coachella that she “had trouble keeping the next part of her show a secret”.

The song is highly speculated to be written in tribute to Gaga’s dear friend, Sonja Durham, who was battling a losing fight with cancer at that time and sadly passed away a few months later.

As seen in Gaga’s documentary Gaga: Five Foot Two, she gets a call from Sonja telling her things were going worse. Gaga tells her to stay strong, and that she will be with her right away, canceling her other work-related plans. After hanging up, she tears up and says “I’m losing everyone I love”.

She might not have the Cure for Sonja’s cancer, but she will do her best to make her feel loved and cherished during her last days.

That write-up there pretty much sums up why I can't stand her these days.
