I really do think this is the likelihood, though. It's still BEYOND me how it's happened...

I really don't think it's a SURPRISE - the Lib Dems might have made substantial ground with the younger voters, which may be of value at some point in the future, but the baby boom generation who historically vote Labour or Tory are the biggest demographic in the UK right now. Unfortunately I think it's just a case of Labour not having a charismatic leader - sad as it may be, what the UK needs right now is someone who can talk the talk. As I've said, I actually think Brown knows the most about the IMPORTANT stuff, but people are just at the stage where they want some superficial reassurance which he isn't able to give.

So betfair is favouring the Tories getting past the all important 326 mark but JUST with 328 seats.

Kratz has already told me we're all getting the death sentence if the Tories win with an overall majority.

See now, if I was a TORY, and I was on a website like moopy which is clearly full of the more articulate and imaginative and well-read side of internet life, I'd have to stop and think HANG ON A MINUTE... am I really ON THE RIGHT PATH here?

I mean we are OVERWHELMINGLY anti-Tory. As is facebook, youtube, and general other places.

It really is telling that so much of the Tory support comes from people who read the Mail and won't hire a Polish person to do their shelves in case they rob their telly.

I'm not saying that about moopy's Tories (all five of them) but you get my point.

    Did I have a point?

    SO EXCITED.

Really pissed off by the letter from our Labour candidate, especially considering I spoke to someone who was PA for a Labour MP the last 4 years and she said that Labour would never encourage people to vote tactically:

'After the debates on TV between the three party leaders and the increase in the Liberal Democrat support in the opinion polls, I've been asked whether this might affect the result of the election here in Poplar and Limehouse. ... the thing is here in Poplar and Limrhouse, the Liberal Democrats are a long lomng way behind the Tories and Respect... it would be impossible for them to win...

The trouble is that it is so close between myself, the Conservatives and Respect's George Galloway that it would only take a few people who in the past voted for me to switch to Liberal Democrats to allow one of them to squeak in. Remember, Galloway is the one who decided he was best serving his constituents in Bethnal Green by entering the Big Brother House and the Tories think the most important priority is abolishing inheritance tax for the super rich!

In other places, Labour supporters have given the Liberal Democrats their support to help defeat Respect, the BNP and even the Conservatives. Here in Poplar and Limehouse, I'm asking Lib Dem supporters to vote for me...'

REALLY? If I was even SLIGHTLY considering for voting for you JIM FITZPATRICK, then you've just turned my vote to ANY PARTY BUT YOU with that PATRONISING load of SHIT.

BBC news says the exit poll has Cons on 307 seats, Labour 255, ib Dem 59, which means the Tories are 19 short of an overall majority.

they've probably gained a lot more individual votes, but not made any headway in the Con-Lab battlegrounds at all.

electoral map + tactical voting = Lib Dems fucked over once again
