excited for Elon's backing vox
That's absolute SHIT. Ghastly. Is it 1997 again?
IF ONLY. Although not in this case
I’m in the minority of thinking that Art Angels was horrible so I’d given up on her anyway. Mind you, nice bit of Cyrillic
It'll be interesting to see if the Elon Musk thing has damaged her. She's well into her Bjork phase where if something is shit it's "a brave reinvention" and if it's not shit is "her best album since (blah blah)" but I;m not sure how big the queue is to kick her. Critics are such click-bating cuntwipes these days, it's hard to say.
Most current pop-culture writing is shallow, unimaginative dreck read by idiots (including me ), but it is quite difficult to separate art from the artist when she's recorded an ode to futuristic tech capitalism while dating the epic rocket man.
I’ve now bothered to listen to more than five seconds of it and actually I really quite like it
Hopefully the album contains a Curve cover
I think it sounds very good on the speakers
it's very Evanescence in places though
If she touches "The Coast Is Clear", I'm coming after her.
Well it’s funny you should say that because she’s apparently given it a nice Evanescence-esque twist
Oooh, the very thought gives me the dry boak, so it does.
I don't hate it!
Her gig was one of the best I've ever gone to and I'm excited about possibly seeing her again!
Reluctant to keep stanning her now she's the hipster Wendi Deng, but I can't deny my enjoyment of this paean to Sainsbury's self-service machines.
Just popping back in to award this 9.2 out of 10, not least because of the repeated knifey clang - actually that really should be KLANG - in the chorus and because I felt strangely compelled to BUY it
ALBUM NOW PLEASE
I don’t hate it but when will she release her best song
OMG why have I never heard this work of fabulous wonder before and OMG why did she scrap the whole album it was on because it was TOO DEPRESSING?
DOES SHE NOT REALISE
Also, I’m not sure what it was that I didn’t like about ‘Art Angels’ as a skippy through the tracks on iTunes reveals that the songs don’t even sound familiar
Start with “Flesh Without Blood” and try AGAIN.
I saw this being described on Twitter as "a tribute to self-service checkouts" and now that's all I can hear.
It turns out that my version of it on iTunes has loads of sub-320 bitrates. THANKS AMAZON. No wonder it sounded shit. Mmm, 245 - HOT
I have deleted it in a furious temper accompanied by a series of piercing screams and will be starting again once I’m WAV’d up
If we're talking metal-influenced songs with Grimes on them, obviously I'm far more into THIS than her new one:
It's a Hollywood moment
Flesh Without Blood is EVERYTHING. It's my 2015 breakup song.
I'm now here for "We Appreciate Power". Full length heavy metal album please.
PLUS the album will apparently be mostly sad songs. @Zu-Klara
she's such a douche. but that sounds like it could be amazing sans gormless face.
Grimes collaborating with death/metalcore gone pop band Bring Me the Horizon.
Especially at the bit at 1:57 where it all kicks off, which might possibly have caused moderate shaking and crying. Also, hints of trance and Crystal Castles (II, specifically) which are of course two of my favourite things EVER
ALBUM NOW PLEASE!
There was recently a BloodPop mix of We Appreciate Power which is fine I guess, but can we please also appreciate the ARTWORK?!
Just noticed @Outsynk’s edit: is this not from her forthcoming album?
No, it's on the Bring Me the Horizon album which is out TODAY.
Omg all of this is so promising
ETHEREAL NU METAL ALBUM INCOMING.
You were right after all @Zu-Klara. Grimes agrees with you on Art Angels.
Oh not AGAIN. What a curse
I did actually end up buying the CD in the end and I don’t mind it but it is a bit JAUNTY
i hate when artists do this. there was some great stuff on art angels even if a lot of the album was overcooked.
chill the fuck out, grimes.
