They're apparently deleting anything that appeared after 2, even H20 sadly.
Oh ffs H20 was fucking brilliant and that should've been THAT.
I'm all for them writing the frankly insulting Resurrection out of history, but yeah I didn't mind H20 for what it was.
Judy Greer will play her daughter.
Well that means Tyra is still alive
But Resurrection really was ABOMINABLE.
Isn't Judy Greer in her 40s? Jamie must be late 50s.
Jamie Lee Curtis is 58. Judy Greer is 42.
So one of them will have to be aged up or down because Laurie didn’t have a child in the first two, and she was about 17?
I don’t think characters ALWAYS have to be the actual age of the actor.
The cast of Grease agog!
That's true. Wasn't Sophia YOUNGER than Dorothy?
I want the last half hour of this to be Jamie Lee vs The Shape and NOTHING ELSE.
They did this before with Nightmare On Elm Street where Nancy was killed off in (I think) the third one before being brought back for New Nightmare. Though that was explained by the actress playing herself. Still, I’m hoping this will be good, as Halloween is still the best horror movie of all time to me.
Bit confusing calling it “Halloween”, but I’ll take that over a naff subtitle.
At least she’s looking more like the original Laurie and not confusing people by keeping the crop cut from H20
Jamie Lee is an underrated actress and I am wishing with all my heart that this is a REVENGE FILM where they fight to their deaths and she kills him in the most gruesome possible way
It's kind of annoying how the whole series has been fucked with so much it devalues this when it should be an iconic moment in time.
I mean forgetting H20 is ridiculous, it was the perfect end to everything.
Josh Hartnett ABORTED AT BIRTH
If it's not as tense, terrifying and an acting masterclass in SHEER FEAR like Sigourney's last 20 minutes in Alien (any of them) like it damn well should be I want my fucking MONEY BACK
I'm hopeful for this
First test screening of this has been done with apparent audience feedback as fair to poor.
Are you kidding? I thought they were still filming it.
If this is shit I'll stick to MY OWN timeline of Halloween - H20 thank you very much.
Spoiler: Some info, not spoilers but still
If it's dismissing all sequels, surely Michael Myers wouldn't be "breaking out" as he disappears at the end of the first film?
Trailer is due to drop on Friday.
Meanwhile here are the first stills
why does she look 80?!
She does look ancient. Not feeling that wig.
Oh come on. She has never been well known for her good looks and youthful complexion. She must be over 60?
She has been rocking the short grey back and sides longer than Judi Dench.
In fairness it sounds like she’s supposed to have been a shut-in for the last forty years and shit hair comes with the territory.
No idea why this couldn’t have picked up from H20 (Apart from the decapitation, I mean), that was a great film. I like the idea of an already neurotic Laurie spending the last twenty years convinced her definitely-dead brother is still alive and preparing herself to avenge her former students, him with the big nose and Jodi-Lyn O’Queef from Nash Bridges. Josh Hartnett could probably have used the money, too.
I always thought she was gorgeous. her stylist must hate her
oh we're due a good slasher gory film! enough already with comic book superheroes who don't bleed
God this feels like a good old SLASHER.
The likes we haven’t had since a SCREAM sequel.
Mmmmm MIXED FEELINGS. I like the jump scare at the end but it does feel like we've seen it all before. Laurie was already an uptight, alcoholic wreck and semi-recluse in H20 and the small town setting has been done to death in the series.
I don’t like the violent angry Michael. He was much more a menacing presence in the original because he was so calm. The angry one just reminds me of the Rob Zombie remake.
Yeah, even the mask looks more Rob Zombie than Carpenter.
I don't know how you cannot be excited by that trailer. It looks terrifying and Jamie Lee Curtis looks fabulous.
I’m here for this, looks good and the exact type of horror/slasher I love.
Oh that does look promising but it means nothing yet.
I suppose one good thing is the vast majority of the general public won't be thinking of H20, her death in that other shitty one no one saw and all the other sequels so this should create quite a mass appeal moment and it's bound to be huge.
Reviews for this are quite fantastic.
