    Oh dear indeed.

Isn't Selma about 15 years too old to be playing school girl?

I think this could work if they adapted it to be the original cast playing women who work in an office

Trailer time. I'm not optimistic. It seems like it's trying far, far too hard while also totally missing the point.

So are Veronica and JD going to kill someone every episode?

No surprises, the first episode of this was rubbish. Just a shitty rehash of the original. Curious to see where the rest of the season goes storywise, but it’s so tryhard to be relevant it’s embarrassing.

I haven't seen the first episode but the trailer is diabolical and entirely misses the point of the original.

God knows how you could eke the film out over 10+ episodes ANYWAY :zombie:

Imagine being so TONE DEAF as to remake a classic film cherished by OUTSIDERS where the queer people are the bad guys in Trump's America.

Everyone involved can go deep-throat a chainsaw.

So the first episode has been released online prior to its televised premiere. It's been called variously 'a Trumpian, LGBT-bashing nightmare', an 'insult to teens in 2018' and the televised premiere has been delayed until later this year because of the recent school shooting.

If they're waiting for a window where no US schools get shot up they'll be waiting a long time...

Good. It looked awful and not ironically.

Aaand, Heathers The Musical was a very strange experience. It wasn’t bad, but I didn’t really enjoy it at all.

It was like a fucking boyband concert. The whole audience of young females were shrieking and screaming throughout, even in the middle of songs. I don’t understand. I know it’s a cult thing but I didn’t realise just how much, particularly as they didn’t seem like the type to be into the film.

The performances were all good, but the characterisation of Veronica and JD was nowhere near as cool as the film. You just don’t believe that those two are even capable of what they’re doing and the guy played JD more like a young Nicolas Cage. The adult characters weren’t as funny either.

The songs all sounded like rip offs of other things I’ve heard that predate it and I didn’t come out remembering any of them. That was the total opposite of Eugenius! which I also saw at The Other Palace a few months ago.
