Yes, well reports this morning were saying that the remaining congressional undeclared superdelegates are ALL going behind Obama. I imagine they will announce after the results of Montana and South Dakota. Maybe tomorrow morning. ALSO Jimmy Carter is going to endorse Obama tonight or tomorrow morning, though that was hardly a surprise.

Clinton's New York Senate run was a strange one too though remember, she had no ties with the State at all before that I don't believe. VP is a VERY attractive post though! It will keep open future Presidency runs more than being a Senator.

There's rumours Obama might offer her a place on the supreme court. Sounds like crazy talk to me - the senate could justifiable refuse to confirm someone who hasn't been a judge and hasn't practised law in years.

    Republicans (implied probability)
    Tim Pawlenty (17%)
    Mitt Romney (17%)

This is a brilliant speech from Obama - I'm geniunely excited about his possiblity of being president. It's a be gutting for mccain to win.

Well done to Hillary too - I hope he means his comments towards her, they're so true.

She hasn't announced anything yet, but commentators are saying her new book tour is the "soft launch" for the campaign.

The sheer OBAMA VITRIOL in this thread just because he dared challenge Dame H!

The highlight has to be where everyone loses their shit halfway through and funky endorses John McCain in the event Hilary didn't win :D

IKR. It was the Gags vs Katy Perry of its day. In the end, the equivalent of a big pair of tits got into office and spent eight years trying to fellate a flaccid cock, politically speaking.

I guess you can't deny the hits.

It just has all felt a bit disappointing, behind the very palatable veneer.

It hasn't really helped that the Tea Party caucus in the House have been totally opposed to any compromise whatsoever unless the imminent default of the entire United States has been at stake - and even THEN they've been begrudging at best. Even Newt Gingrich sat down with Bill Clinton once in a while.

This is why the American political system is total wank though. Gerrymandering's made it totally defective.

I HATED Obama during the campaign. I thought he and Michelle played a really nasty game. Hills conducted herself with far more class.

Of course, I got swept up in the pro-Obama hysteria thereafter (it was well timed to coincide with Alexandra Burke's X-Factor win), but I was always a HC kind of girl.

To Cher's point (:disco:), it was EVER THUS. I think a lot of the "Obama's not ready for the White House" commentary of the time rings true in hindsight. Hills is a far more shrewd political player, and I'm sure she'd have made less of a pig's ear of it all.

That said, Obama really did come to power at the worst possible time. Thank God Hills is going to oversee an age of bountiful prosperity :disco:

I think Obama was unfortunate in that there was nothing he could've done - he tried bipartisanship and just had the door slammed in his face every time as everything he stood for in Republican eyes was totally anathema to them, even after compromise. Lest we forget Hilary was much the same to them - and probably still will be in oh sixteen. The Tea Party and Grover Norquist have totally fucked up any hope of the American political system working properly unless there's a Republican President or a Democratic Congress.

    all of this.

It's difficult sometimes knowing whether you want to be a strong black man or an empowering female. This is why Oprah should have just run instead.
