Yes, Lorraine Pascale is BACK and this time she's tackling all forms of cooking. Shamefully I forgot it was on until a second ago, but there's no way she's being RELEGATED to the "what are you watching" thread again

I don't want her to do "made easy". I want the OTT "you can't make this but I can" cakes from last time but on a BIGGER AND BETTER scale. :(

This is like when Delia Smith taught us all how to open a packet of wedges and put them on a baking tray.

...that said, I've only just turned it over and this stuff does look pretty complicated. I TAKE IT BACK.

Lest we forget last time it was called 'Baking Made Easy', and some of the stuff looked ANYTHING BUT (to the likes of me anyway).

She mentioned that she's currently in the middle of her dissertation; does anyone know what she's studying? I feel my celebrity stalking senses tingling...

Oh was it? I only ever knew it as "That cake show" (and sometimes "That cake show by that black lady" as I'm well PC).

I'm just watching now. I love Lorraine so much.

She's infinitely better than rubbish old Sophie Dahl.

I quite enjoyed this! She's not as articulate as Nigella, which I found a GOOD THING quite often. She managed to fit in twice as many recipes as Nigella because she wasn't drunkenly verbalising about everything, and "Fuh ME..." asides.

Why the fuck did she go to Barcelona for about 30 seconds to buy some chocolate (that seemed totally unrelated to the recipe), say that the Spanish love chocolate, and then proceed make a recipe for something that wasn't Spanish in the slightest? :D

I like her though, I don't want to sound negative about it! 100x better than that bitch Dahl

Oh marvellous. I appreciate that it's PROPER FOOD this time, and still ...Made Easy. Even though i'll probably make none of it. *microwaves a ready meal*

I hope it does happen that she becomes the new face of Sainsbury's, as was mooted a few months back.. What a trade up from Jamie Oliver. They'll probably have to surround her with lots of aryan stage school kiddies to please middle england, mind you :(

I've only watched the start of it and AS PLEASED as I am to have her BACK, I hate all the jangly, jazzy bits they have to do at the beginning to make it contemporary/modern. Just GET ON WITH IT

Sorry to be the voice of dissidence here but I don't understand the gushing comments about this show. Her baking series was better because it was more specialized but this is just a run of the mill BBC cookery show and not a great one at that. I preferred Simon Hopkinson's offering. There's nothing special about Pascale's recipes.

Well, it IS called Home Cooking MADE EASY. It's just supposed to be simple ideas for people. I don't think she's setting out to revolutionise food with the recipes. Lorraine's a bit more aspirational than Simon Hopkinson too.

Maybe we're just shallow and like a gorgeous ex-model and her soothing tones over a Calvin Harris soundtrack rather than some CRAGGY OLD MAN.

She could be giving me the recipe for toast and I wouldn't care.

In fairness, she basically was with that toasted sandwich. But Simon Hopkinson didn't have a lovely HIGH GLOSS kitchen.

Simon Hopkinson does have Helen Worth as a fag hag though. Therefore he still wins.

I actually love her. I don't care what she's cooking, she just leaves you feeling all SAFE and SECURE.

I wish she was my friend.
