It still feels a bit early really but I wanted to post the exciting news that Beverley Knight has released A Christmas Wish, The Theme to The Loss Adjuster, which ticks off the usual festive Spectorisms cheerfully enough: The obvious question is what kind of film has Bev got herself on the soundtrack of? Well... STARRING: Luke Goss! Martin Kemp!! Kym Marsh!!! Abi from Eastenders!!!! And also STARRING JOAN COLLINS They really saved Christmas 2020.
The British film industry is clearly alive and well. Bit confused that little Abi Branning seems to be the love interest for Luke Goss.

Tinashe has released a (much better than I would have expected) R&B Christmas EP. They are traditional Christmas songs but she really makes them her own in a way that you rarely hear in Christmas covers. I love the Now, Now song; that and Saara Aalto doing Kylie were probably the pick of last year's crop.

It was recorded as a piss-take on the John Lewis Christmas Ads and their habit of gloomifying songs. Throw a few synths, bells, and whistles on it and it could have a Saint Etienne-esque quality.
