A diet of coke, cum, meth and crisps does a body good (allegedly).
Forgive self-indulgence but 16 weeks into my journey I've hit a 2 stone loss and even though my most recent -loving sexual partner has already expressed his disdain I'm very happy about it
I know the 16:8 intermittent fasting has its SCEPTICS but since I started it I've lost weight every week except one, when I maintained. Admittedly this is in combination with some moderate exercise and eating healthier... but I would recommend it to anyone who feels stuck in a rut.

Skills. I think 16:8 really is the easiest and most sustainable way to lose a bit of weight. I've been doing it for most of this year now, and I don't wake up feeling remotely hungry. Even without exercise and a considerable alcohol intake I'm staying relatively slim to when I eat at all hours. It's good for your body long term too, unlike Keto etc.

Ok tell me more about this 16:8. You only eat during an 8 hour period right?
Does that include BOOZE?
And does it include MCDONALDS?
Yup! My eating window is 10:30am - 6:30pm
Just water outside those times But you can take days off...
WELL I think the concept is that you should be able to eat normally in your 8 hour window, so whatever normal is to you
That sounds quite good! The only struggle I would have is not having breakfast first thing - I'd have to think of something I could have at work (we have a toaster I guess)

Congrats @dUb though I would still recommend 5:2 over 16:8 for sustained weight loss.

I rarely bother with breakfast so my window starts with lunch which can be 12 or 1.30

JUST WATER? But Google says you can have calorie-free drinks outside the window. YES I KNOW that’s not booze but no way am I waiting til the afternoon to have my coffee
Tea or coffee with a splash of milk is FINE at any time beb. if it's just a handful of calories your system stays in its "FASTED STATE" apparently - not worth waking up for.
On the plus side you can start on the gin and tonics at 10.30am.
RIGHT! I'm going to start on Sunday and try to stick to Sunday-Thursday. Weekends are no good cos I'll be drinking til about 2am so I'd have to fast until *checks notes* 6pm

Lockdown misery eating/drinking did me no favours.
Only just in the overweight bracket and sort of trying to lose but not trying as hard as I was. This actually seems to be a positive as the yo-yoing was on an overall upward whilst the current "meh but keep an eye on it" is retaining consistency with the odd half pound drop here and there.

5:2 works, as my eating only pills all weekend weight will contest, but unless you're doing it off your tits, its a fucking miserable way to live.
18:6 is easy and sustainable.
I dunno really, I use the Fastic app which is handy for just keeping track of it (cc @Kate @COB) - I'm sure you can vary the periods but the more you vary I guess the less likely it is that you'll maintain regular 16 hour fastings.
Ms Ron went more extreme for a while and only ate 2-8, I'm happy eating 12-8
The general premise is that by skipping a meal time you're already 200-300 in deficit, and if you combine that with some cardio before your 12 meal you're doing it fasted as well, which is great for losing visceral fat. Every steroid lover I know does 20-30 mins of low intensity fasted cardio in the morning to really get their body fat down.
I've just grabbed this app and it recommended me 20 - 4, the Warrior. Which may be a tad ambitious.
I'd be inclined to mainline kebab meat in a 4 hour window.
I downloaded the app and it asked for my weight so I've deleted it again.
