It used to be Get Outta My Dreams but in recent times the GLORIOUS DRAMA of Red Light Spells Danger does it for me

I thought I had a HEART OF STONE
But now I'm in the DANGER ZONE

Actually I always sing 'Now I'm in the WOMAN'S OWN' but that's A LONG STORY

    Ooh it's GOTTA BE

There's nothing like a PRE-8AM BLAST of DAME BILLY'S 1975 DEBUT to GET YOU UP AND GOING. It's just FAUX-MOTOWN JOY all the WAY

The OBVIOUS is Love Really Hurts Without You, that has by far the most memorable melody and is a wedding disco staple

But "Red Light Spells Danger" is all too much :disco:

The REHEATED SYNTH POP of the 80s is ghastly in a way, especially the ballads.

Peaked in the 70s without doubt, though I have very fond memories of Carribean Queen and WTGGT and GOOMDGIMC, which I now deem all INFERIOR to the DISCO YEARS

Quite. Those "I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)" chord sequences get me EVERY time.

Having said that, I can't look at his name anymore without thinking of a forty-something geek registered by that name on the official Belgian charts site who used to come #1 in a chart predictor game for months on end.

I hardly know any of these :o

I can't think of "Get out of my dreams" without thinking of an information video on The Simpsons about getting restraining orders, called "Get out of my dreams (and also out of my car)"

really? I thought i was jumping the shark as we spoke. I'm not sure I'd have enough to say about 80s No.1s unless they were really famous. It would be a total Back to the Future Part III

The obvious choice I know but you can't beat LRHWY. Red Light does hold a special place in my heart as it was on the first album I owned. :(

Loving the Mark & Lard tag! :D

    My references have been spotted!

Ekkostar - Michael Douglas was hot then. Romancing The Stone I think it was from.

I worked with his daughter and had lunch with him once. He's a right old charmer.

But to answer the question, several years later, it's Love Really Hurts Without You.

Whilst it risks a DRAMATIC DISCO DETENTION, I'd like to change my vote in this poll to CARIBBEAN QUEEN (NO MORE LOVE ON THE RUN), which has recently declared itself as one of my favourite songs of all time.

    AS YOU WERE.
