Is that the one where it went CGI when you picked up some ammo?
I don't FINK so. It's all rotoscoped and looked BEAUTIFUL. Do you remember Flashback? It was the predecessor to that.
Oh it is Flashback I'm thinking of.
Well it looked more amazing back then.
I've just downloaded "Wall Of Sound".
It's a really cute way of browsing your music library
Anyone here on Words With Friends?
Oh well just add me if you are, I am Velocimax
I like Action Movie FX

What's the best place to get insurance for an iPhone? Carphone want £14 per month which seems a bit STEEP.
Can you get it through your bank account? I pay £10/month for phone and travel insurance and a host of others things I never use.
The mobile operators are fucking BANDITS when it comes to it. Their excesses are ludicrous.
Ok so I've tried some of the otheres now
Grand Prix - AMAZING. Definitely more of a challenge than Game Dev but with all the addiction.
Pocket Academy - Only just started playing this one so need abit more time with it
Mega Mall - Oh I thought this was a pile of shit - horrible graphics and just nothing to it. No real challenges and nothing really fun about it.
Will probably try Pocket League after Academy. Not so sure if I can be bothered with the Town games
This is getting A LOT of attention this morning
Barclays at the moment but all other bank accounts in March. It sounds bloody great! Useful for when you're short on splitting the bill.
I heard that on the news this morning. Sounds interesting indeed.
In the meantime, I'm GLUED to Where's My Water - the kind of on the go puzzler the iPhone does so very very well.
Oh I love that! I just downloaded it last night, although I'm too cheap to pay for the full version so have to wait for a new puzzle each day
It always makes me smile when he starts washing himself.
Oooh just got Viber ( ) Perfect for calling and texting people abroad for free!
Swampy the breakout star
I tried the freebie but the ads got on my tits very quickly. The levels progress much better in the full thing and there's tons of stuff there.
Reverse Remote is great if you've got an iPod connected to a dock and you want to control it from your laptop which is what I always thought the remote app should be. Why are you ever likely to have your Laptop connected to a set of speakers more than your iPod?
I've been asked to get WhatsApp so I can text people in the UK for free. But in Australia I can send free texts since iOS5 came out (i.e. the blue bubble = free text). In the UK, does the blue bubble only appear when you're on wifi?
If you've got any data connection.
So it works over 3G too?
3G, EDGE, GPRS
HMMMM. They must just have a rubbish signal or be terminally stupid.
YES SHEENA, I MEAN YOU.
This is quite good. I've never used it for transfers, but hell, it bothers to tell me balance immediately which no other bank I'm with seems to be bothered with.
Is anyone playing Simpsons Tapped Out? It's not the most exciting game in the world, but it's free (unless you're one of those idiots who actually pays for the "premium" content these games always try to flog. £16.99 to have my own pixelated Scorpio - no thanks! :daf: ) and it's quite fun building your own Springfield.
Anyway I want some buddies, so ADD ME if you're playing it. My user is JPL5386
I need to get started on that VoR!
I'm quite addicted to all those games, despite them being a completely stupid waste of time.
If I ever calculated the HOURS of my LIFE already wasted developing RSI collecting coins on Tiny Zoo/Tiny Monsters/Tiny Village...
Pocket Planes has lost its thrall with me now.
Last thing I played that I vaguely enjoyed was Plague Inc.
By far the best thing I have played was the outstanding Ghost Trick. Amazing.
Oh ok, Ghost Trick is awesome, and so is Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP. I need to finish those off.
I enjoyed Ghost Trick on the DS.
Square can JOG ON if they think I'm paying a tenner for The World Ends With You.
Ghost Trick was just fabulous. It's £7 all in but I'd rather pay £7 than have some freemium bollocks or a 69p budget title.
I just loved the characters, the story, the music, the puzzles, the animation. Glorious.
Superbrothers is a pleasing experience, wonderful music and setting, plus the game paces you perfectly.
There is a rather expensive Square Final Fantasy game out too. A proper one that has been designed to to mimic the retro style of SNES era ones. Not sure how I feel about that.
£19.99 after you buy it all.
Now I'm not sure I see a problem with that, I'm sure if I'd seen that on the GBA I would have bitten it's hand off at that price. 40 hours of play, properly made game with a budget.
I think the iOS gaming is going to start seeing some serious challenges. A lot of the market now have their expectations of games set at 69p, maybe £1.49. With technology demands ramping up, budgets get stretched. There are a couple of options open to developers, design in a freemium model as a gameplay mechanic or charge more for your games. I hate the first option as the gameplay is effectively crippled to encourage people to buy IAP. So the core of your game is dull and tedious, and you have to pay to make it less shit, and if you do that then the thrall is completely broken as the game is designed about exploiting game OCD. Then you have the "make your games more expensive" option, which I much prefer, as I'd rather they have a budget, quality polish and have no concessions to making the game earn money from the purchaser as it goes along.
...and with that said, the iOS version of TWEWY is cheaper than on other platforms.
I'm wondering how the new 4 inch screen is going to work. I know old apps will have the black border at the top and bottom but if they update the app for the bigger screen, how will that work with the older devices that still have the 3.5 inch screen?
Oh that Simpsons game is AWFUL. It started off promising with the in jokes to "social games" and references to the show (Tomaco, I choo choo choose you) but after the first couple of days of playing it there is really nothing THERE.

I'm currently playing Dungeon Village, it's not one of their best but it's still fun.
I need to update my Kairosoft rank
Kairosoft needs to FUCK OFF QUITE FRANKLY. their games are very endearing but you're done in a few days
playing Hay Day :daf:
iPhone development software features auto layout functions which adapt depending on the screen size.
I just installed it. I got this 'Too many people are playing. Don't you wish you were one of them?' Does that happen a lot?
Not really. Every now and again but usually only for about 10 minute intervals. What's your username?
Agh I was able to play it last night, but I don't really like it. I couldn't chose a thing and had just to click ... WanderingLight is my username on Origin.
