Are we talking about Jantelagen? From my shallow understanding, all the brouhaha is typically a passionate knee- jerk reaction. Or a dramatic outburst devoid of ill intentions. It probably has less to do with an aversion to strong personalities as a whole but more of a directed response to a comment in particular

It's a Scandinavian ideology that the tallest nail gets hit first. Quite the opponent of being the centre of attention in favour of keeping a middling profile

Oh JTK, you're never going to become a crossover poster if you start randomly dropping obscure Swedish words into Moopy Moop topics. :D

moopy used to be really resistant to shit posters, sadly those days are gone.

which reminds me, can we have a nice old fashioned banning game?

I started one. It got about 5 votes and 3 replies so I abandoned it. Just no appetite for it any more.

I looked for Jantelagen in the members list to see what they'd been posting that caused the kerfuffle. :shy:

I can imagine VoR baiting this one to post more...

"You're a great poster and people need to see that. Post something in Moopy Moop"
    "About Eurovision?"
"Oh God no. Just a topic that seems a little clever so the academic posters like me can get involved... Also make sure you use lower case on the title. That'll look really good"
    "You're the best VoR"

A few years ago, yes. It's become much more tolerant in recent year. If I had a penny for every "WHAT IS THIS SHIT?" circa 08-10 I would have immigrated to Singapore.

I think it depends how far a person is willing to take their individualism.

So is this where every queen comes to pretend that she had individualism and that she struggled with it against all the other close minded queen? LOL

What about me? I would consider myself quite far removed from the Moopy demographic and therefore quite individual with a very specific (weirdish) personality. Yet all those closed-minded Queens let me stay.

I think we should talk about this over dinner?

Just for clarification I was asking a question not making a statement.

Do you mean dinner or tea? Because here in the north of England the meal called dinner is the one we have around midday and the one we have early evening is tea. Also, you don't mind if Mr F tags along too do you?

How about Tuesday at 7pm in the Black Horse?

Sure he can watch... I mean come along :shy:
Will you daughter be attending :eyes:

Tea! "Black horse' something about that title makes me think its the place to be.

I'll even pick up the tab, but if your family comes along we'll have to go to Mcdonalds.

Oh and would Mr F mind sitting a few tables away?

Love, being anti-voting is about as dull a claim to 'individualism' as you can get. You and about 40% of most Western countries.

Although I suppose being fucking shit definitely passes as a strong personality type.
