February 5th, I'm surprised it's took this long really. It'll include a new song and duet with Kelly Clarkson on "Foolish Games".

    Billboard:

This is the track list but the exact sequencing hasn't been confirmed yet:

    “Who Will Save Your Soul”
    “You Were Meant For Me”
    “Foolish Games”
    “Hands”
    “Down So Long”
    “Jupiter”
    “Standing Still”
    “Break Me”
    “Intuition”
    “Good Day”
    “Stronger Woman”
    “Somewhere Over The Rainbow”
    “Satisfied”“
"Foolish Games” – with Kelly Clarkson
"You Were Meant For Me” – with the Pistol Annies
    New Single (not yet announced)

No "2 Become 1" or "Serve the Ego" remix :(

Currently listening to the 0304 album, it's not her best and no by means essential but some of it still stands surprisingly well.

Wooooooooo. Jewel and Kelly could be amazing although I'm not sure if I'll like Foolish Games as a duet.

I've been listening to her iTunes Originals lately. The version of Good Day is amazing but I can't find it on YouTube unfortunately.

Surprisingly short tracklist in this day and age of (dying) GH's where everything is shoved on. Commendable for that reason alone. I suppose the main notable omission is "Serve the Ego" (Remix) but then she's not as desperate as Tori Amos, now is she?

    No "Stand"?

I want to hear the new songs. As much as she LOST it after the first country album, I don't think I could ever wash my hands of her.

The Gabriel Dresden mix of 'Serve The Ego' is such an unexpected MAX TRACK, and probably reason she decided to make a RIDICULOUS full blown pop album. :D

Disappointment. I'd been hoping for full-blown releases of the radio edits for Jupiter and the DIVINE What's Simple Is True and hopes have been DASHED yet again. Come on woman!

Was 0304 meant to be satirical? I never knew.

    I still really like Hands.

    yup it was

The video fro Intuition was a stab at Britney and even used her original back up dancers (at the time). There was this midget kind of thing who was ugly and awful.

The "Intuition" video was pretty good I thought and definitely didn't pull its punches with its sideswipes at corporate America.

I like Intuition a lot. It's actually quite an interestingly structured pop song. I think she dissasociated herself from the project a bit when it didn't perform as well as she'd hoped, but most of it is just standard Jewel with bigger production, not nearly the departure it was hyped as being. Intuition is the frothiest thing on it.

I love Stand and 2 Become 1 (not a SG cover). Some of her lyrics are ropey as fuck, but it was ever thus. :D

Intuition (the video at least) was definitely a stab at satire, but a strange one because she didn't actually seem all that out of place hosing herself down amidst a herd of stripping firemen. She should have made the visuals more grotesque (maybe a Madge-style leotard) to really hammer her point home.

The record itself however, nope. Like VOR says, the music was really standard Jewel fare hiding behind pop production. In fact, some of the tracks weren't even that - the likes of Becoming wouldn't have stood out particularly from the Spirit tracks.

"Stand" is great, one of my favourite Jewel songs.

The problem with 0304 is that the whole just felt a little disigenuous. Sure, it was all supposed to ironic, or so she said, but ultimately did up her levels of sanctimoniousness to critical levels!

I always thought that too. It never felt like she entirely had the courage of her convictions about the whole thing and would have more than happy for it to be a huge smash hit.

It all felt a little too sneery and knowing.

Yeah, "Intuition" was definitely meant to be ironic, especially the video, but I struggle to say quite the same for the rest of the album. It was hardly a Liz Phair style pop makeover which came out around the same time.

It's a crime that more success wasn't made out of "2 Become 1" (as well as the less amazing but still great "Stand") but I just don't think there was a place for Jewel on the charts in '03.

I never know what to think of the whole 0304 affair. there were so many contradictions. So it was supposed to be an ironic satire of pop music, but then in the album notes she goes on to say "this is the album i've always wanted to make". whut? :|

maybe the album notes were meant to be ironic too :D

i also like that she calls anna nicole smith a freak on "America". RIP ANNA :(

I loved that she decided to keep a song for the 0304 album she was gonna give away TO HOLLY VALANCE :D

and I also remember a song featuring Santana, that was quite nice. I think I need to revisit it.

0304 is okay in places but as far as it being her stab at commercial pop (ironic or not) it's pretty DULL.

    Loved the three singles, mind.

What a shit GH tracklist. 'Stand', '2 Become 1', 'This Way' and 'Serve The Ego' all missing :(

Pretty pointless two albums to compare. If you're going to do a State of Mind square off it should be against Dannii Minogue's 'Neon Nights'.

I'm not keen on the Greatest Hits tracklist. Much like a ( less talented ) Tori Amos or Fiona Apple she really is the kind of artist you'd be better trawling through the albums to create your own personal fan favourite playlist.

    A pretty interesting interview, too:

I find it bizarre that she claims to never go back and listen to her albums after they're mixed. How does she remember how to perform them?

She's divorcing her partner of 16 years, and she's written a very long letter about it on her website.
