Oh no, that's not true at all... their other foreign policy is to take $4.5 billion funding from foreign aid :D

Abbott's getting the SPILL treatment :disco: He's lost faith with his backbenchers for leading a MARE of an unpopular government which has done all sorts of bollocks (abolishing their equivalent of JSA until someone's been out of work for at least six months etc), but this has all been triggered by him bringing back knighthoods and giving one to PRINCE PHILIP :D

He's won a no-confidence vote by 61-39, but the knives are out and after a vote like that (where if there were an opposing candidate the payroll vote might switch) it feels pretty inevitable that Malcolm Turnbull'll be in soon - which would be deliciously poetic, because like Labor he's the one Abbott ousted to become leader. I'm hoping Abbott'll stagger on wounded and get UTTERLY MURDERED in next year's elections though :disco:

As much as I'd love Abbott to get trashed by the electorate, I just want him out as quickly as possible. I can't think of a more detestable modern leader in the English-speaking world.

I'm not sure I agree it's abuse, but it's certainly ugly.

And I thought all those British politicians rushing to be photographed eating a Greggs pasty during the pasty tax furore was bizarre.

Australian politics is crazy. There's a chance Abbott might be booted out by his own party today.

It think this would be the third term in a row with a prime minister kicked out by their own party.

Quite exciting though, I'm in a bar and all four of us present are glued to the screen (except for when I'm glued to my phone)

Been watching Sky news all night - hurry the fuck up with this vote already! I had to laugh earlier when one of their guests compared the two leaders as Arsenic and Rat Poison.

And as much as i HATE Abbot (Turnbull is one of the better alternatives for Liberal leader) i hope Abbot wins the spill by the smallest of margins and continues to lead the Liberal party to election defeat in 2016. That said, Bill Shorten as Labour leader is such a dismal prospect.

That's a shame. Abbott was on track to get totally thrashed in the next election, but Turnbull will probably win :(

That doesn't reveal much though - they are all free to do so for cosmetic purposes now that it is the law of the land.
