Yeah I listened to this last night and it all kind of washed over me. "Higher Higher" is decent and led to a couple repeat plays but otherwise MEH

I gave it a quick listen on Friday, and I quite enjoyed “Midnight Summer Jam” and “Sauce”. However it just sounds like they’ve run out of ideas. The one about his son and “Flannel” are possibly the worst things he’s ever put out.

I gave it a second spin this morning and "Breeze Of The Pond" and "Livin' Of The Land" were better than I remembered. Agreed on "Flannel" and "Young Man" though. I'd add "Sauce" to that as well though (those lyrics... :manson:). And as for that Alicia Keys duet...

The backlash for this (and him) in the press has been vicious. It's a weak album for sure, but the attacks for cultural appropriation have been full on. He works with some of the best black artists/writers/producers in the world and they choose to work with him. The accusation that he as "privileged white man" is "stealing black culture". He's definitely made some huge gaffs in the past (e.g. the response to Janftgate and his BET tweets last week) but it doesn't feel like that comes from an exploitative or superior position rather than a thick eared one.

So it will be interesting to see how the Super Bowl PERF goes down tonight. Apparently the planned Prince hologram has been canned due to MASSIVE backlash :D

On that note, I think @Ellie should give "Sauce" a spin. It might remind you of something..!

    I don’t care for this

Which means I’ll probably love it in a few weeks

Good old Janice categorically saying she won’t be there tonight .

Which in her mind means she will, as she only doesn’t show up to things she promises too

I think bringing Janet on would have been a nice touch, albeit that I couldn’t ever see it happening. His response to the question was really cunty though...

This “stealing black culture” thing is getting fucking ridiculous, though. At what point does this shit stop? It really is just racist to suggest someone can’t make the music they want to because it’s primarily performed by people of colour. Absolute hogwash...

I just don’t think he pulls it off very well (the black culture thing). It’s always seems quite incredulous, but that’s just my opinion. There’s no issue with the likes of George Michael “stealing” from black culture... although I’m fully aware that he faced similar criticism early in his solo career, but he won everyone round in the end.

Album is shit, his Superbowel was boring and he really is not ageing very well. RIP Justin Timberlake's solo career (2003-2018).

I must say Justin’s 2003 shirtless shoots were quite IMPORTANT to me as a 13 year old

Not to mention the crude fakes people made from them

That would have maybe worked in 2003 but now it looks like a Scruff profile pic of a provincial queen who’s only just discovered the gym.

I think that was the only real time I paid any attention to him. That photo above looks like a child's face on a man's body to me. It doesn't fit.

I think he looks his age. But he still looks good, so who cares?

Where's the ROLLEYES emoji when you need it.

He was HOT in 2003. HOT in 2007. HOT even in 2012 or whenever he did 20/20 ("Mirrors" video - sexy). But he's just been looking a bit OFF since that awful "Can't Stop the Feeling" video. Still HOTTISH but not quite as hot as before. NOTHING to do with age PER SE though..

Well it probably is a *bit* to do with age. That being the thing that causes people's appearance to change over time...

    I DIDN’T SAY HE WASN’T HOT!

Someone, at this point I don’t even remember who, said he was ageing badly because he doesn’t look like a plastic doll anymore and I was saying he looks better than ever (IN MY OPINION)

I must be thinking of a different shoot then. I'm fairly sure his head was shaved in the images I'm thinking of.

I feel a bit bad for him because he hasn’t really done anything WRONG. The whole ‘backlash’ seems to have arisen from apathy.

I still think ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling’ is a TREMENDOUS pop song.
