Apparently the press release describes it as 'interesting takes on classic songs'.

Needless to say I immediately thought of THIS :disco:

It's going to be songs from musicals apparently.

    FUCK YOU MEL C.

Also it's scheduled for weeks within the tour. How RETARDED.

As much as I like her there's no way I'm sitting through a solo album of her vocals.

She struggles at being competent when she has two lines in a song, bless her. If they can't sell this to ME, who the buggery IS going to buy it?

Maybe her vocals have improved now that she's a WEST END STAR.

To be honest, I'm only (very slightly) interested if she's STILL as ROPEY as she was doing Chain Reaction. Just 'not very good' simply isn't bad enough.

I think Jennifer Ellison was hoping for a similar MIRACLE.

Seriously though, what a GOD AWFUL idea :D

Was Jennifer Ellison actually in anything significant though? I mean every two-bit Z-lister has done Chicago.

I know it's not exactly SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE, but I thought by most accounts Kimberley's run in Shrek was well received?

    Legally Blonde (Travelling Edition).

If (a BIG if) there WERE any positive Shrek reviews, it would be because she was coming on the back of Amanda Holden's reign of terror.

I hope this means we get a solo section on tour.

    Cherly - Call My Name
    Nadine - Insatiable
Kimberley - Memory (Theme from Cats) / Memory of You mash-up
Nicola - Cinderella's Eyes in its entirety
Sarah - gurning to an instrumental of her oft-delayed club anthem

As a dear friend of mine said after seeing her in it, squinting is not acting!

The idea of having OTHER CONTESTANTS as your back-up singers still amuses me for some reason. It just looked SO SHIT.

But any way, where is Sarah's THREE YEARS IN THE MAKING (BUT ONLY FEELS LIKE A MONTH WITH ALL OD'S SHE'S HAD) CLUB ANTHEM?

    :D

Though that is quite competent really, more than I'd expect from her.

I think it's going to be one of those SICK AND DISGUSTING things where this outsells Insatiable and Cinderella's Eyes combined and then tripled. Which I know is still not hard.

On Strictly they showed a clip of her in the recording studio (pretending to rehearse her dance routine natrually) and a clip of her singing Somewhere was played. You couldn't make out much but I expect the big notes on that song to be INTERESTING.

Sounds fine, but quite emotionless. Also the backing vocals sound a bit cheap.

Yeah, I agree. She doesn't sound bad per se but there's no vulnerability. And I don't like the pop ad libs, as minor as they are.

And the backing vocals sound like they're from a YouTube karaoke track.

I know a KIMBERLEY WALSH recording isn't a good basis for this question but what is the actual appeal of musicals?

It's what old poofs used to do of an evening for entertainment before they invented grindr.

This looks a bit SHIT. But I'll still buy it. :D

I wonder just how well it will DO though. Surely it will outpeak Insatiable, but not quite as high as Cinderella's Eyes...

I want to hear what Falling Slowly has become in the hands of Kimberley and Ronan. Nothing like the original, I'm sure, but I'm still curious.

I'm surprised she's doing well on SCD. She's almost a TRIPLE THREAT (fnarr fnarr)

She really should rush it out straight after Strictly. She'll never have a profile so high again.

But then it didn't work for Emma Bunton. :(
