New single from the egotistically titled Fame re-release, one of six new songs. I wonder if it's another RedOne affair...

Why are they even bothering with a re-release....it's still top ten in both the UK and US ?

    POINTLESS RIP OFF

Six new songs is quite annoying. I bet with that number they'll take some songs off, so there isn't one 'complete' edition too.

Just put out another album, you money-grabbing cow.

I can't keep up with this. When is it happening?

And now just about EVERY pop act seems to get a re-release, I've got used to it and just expect it. I'mjust surprised they are doing it NOW and not in about October to catch the Christmas market. Presumably they will wheel out a DVD version then.

Does this mean we won't get "LoveGame" over here too ?

Exactly. Don't people usually do this when they have mined the album dry? She's still got at least 2 singles left on the album as it stands.

I'm almost glad I didn't buy the original release of "The Fame."

Me neither. The version out in my country excludes Starstruck and the AMAZING Again and Again (though some may differ)

I don't get why they bother re-releasing an album either shortly after it was originally released or when it's still very much doing well as far as the charts are concerned.

This is EXACTLY why I don't buy albums anymore until either they are dirt cheap or the re-release comes out.

I only got Back To Black and Good Girl Good Bad the other month for this reason.

I hope this comes AFTER LoveGame though. It's the one essential song left.

Given that the album doesn't need the boost at ALL in the way Rihanna's did, and indeed the fact that it's riding high in the top 5 of most national charts and looks set to for a while yet, isn't a re-release going to be more expensive than just mining the existing set?

SIX new songs on a re-release? Why not just record a few more and release it in a few months as a new album?

    It's why I'm still sceptical...

Like Flo, I too don't bother with MANY albums now until well after they've "finished"...THIS is what's ruining the record industry if you ask ME

    Why is this happening?

She could still release any/all of the following and keep the album selling well into next year

    LoveGame
    Boys Boys Boys
Eh Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)

"I Like It Rough" should get a release as well but I highly doubt it considering it's like the only song she isn't performing on tour off the album.

    I love I Like It Rough but I don't think it's a SINGLE

If this does happen I'm not bothered though as I've rinsed The Fame for months now and I'm already ready for some new Gaga

Yeah, "I Like it Rough" is not single material at all.

Of all the 'album tracks' I'd say that "Boys Boys Boys" and "Money Honey" are the most singleworthy.

"LoveGame", obviously, but "Boys Boys Boys" and "Summer Boy" are both SCREAMING to be released, the latter less so because it's clearly missed the correct time of the year SLOT

And I think overlooking "Starstruck", particularly in the US, would be a BIG MISTAKE

Love Game is fucking horrible. She's repulsively try-hard sometimes. I'm ALL for a release of Boys Boys Boys though, or of course the fabulous Eh Eh.

Even if personally it isn't your style, how can you deny its potential as a single? I'd say after "Just Dance" it's the most obvious single on the album probably next to "Poker Face"

But "LoveGame" is already a single (in America); so that's not really up for debate..

Doesn't this go against her whole ethos? The album is supposed to be her masterpiece, her art, that she's been working so hard for years to make perfect.

Whilst she's still going to be the victim of record company logic, it doesn't exactly support what she's saying by bunging out a re-release so shortly after the original.

Unless she's including it with a 'The Fame: Video Anthology' for nearly every track on the album then I'm not interested.

Have you just FORGOTTEN Paparazzi or something? I don't really think it has potential as a single here in the UK because it seems so novelty. Then again, the public is so taste-free that I'm sure they'll lap it up as they have done in the US, but I just can't be doing with something where they ENTIRE premise of the song is a fucking one liner based around a metaphor of a penis. It's too tacky.

Chill out guys. She said a few weeks ago that the re-release was coming out towards the end of the year, so there's plenty of time to milk both "Paparazzi" and "Lovegame".

I just seems so unnecessary tbh, surely being quite an influential figure in the music charts around the world she could have helped get out of the whole re-release cycle.

I mean if you havnt bought the album already then you may as well just wait for the re-release now it's been annnounced.

Ok it worked for Rihanna to keep momentum going (which would have worked great had she released a new album this summer) but to announce this 3 singles in with the album still selling well all over.

Oh dear I feel like I just want to rant.........

...i'm sorry but six tracks? save it till the years end and put it with another 6 and there's a new album

    - It's not as though she's even lacking in the single worthy tracks
    - Surely if you've spent over 2 years sorting out an album then why think of a re-release 6 months into it going 'massive'
    - If this is true then I think i hate her even more...
    - She's not even hot

Having said that I did download some quite enjoyable Paparazzi remixes yesterday

That's not the issue though, the record buyer is left feeling insignificant when the album they bought (so recently) is made automatically inferior by an ill-conceived re-release.

I'm sorry but since in this day and age where a lot of sales come from digital sales isn't a re-release better for the album since the ones who already own it can just buy the extra tracks and can count as a separate sale or does it add up to the current one? Not to mention re-releases have claimed victims since 2002 (Hello Sophie E.B.) and fans eat this shit up. I've encountered people who own up to 5 different versions of Good Girl Gone Bad :zombie:

I doubt there's going to come a day where fans unite and boycott an artist because everyone knows the album will be re-released.

Yeah, cause that argument really makes a LOT of SENSE and completely addresses the issue of record companies FLEECING people who've bought the thing in the first place and made it a HIT

It's attitudes like THIS that keep this kind of SHIT going :|

Is this a new version of 'Second Time Around' or is it the old demo that leaked out a while back?

And I assume this re-release story was a load of nonsense, although inevitably there will probably be one before Christmas anyway.
